Mother of the Groom outfit help please

My ds1 is getting married at the end of September and so I've started looking at what to wear. But what does the mother of the groom wear?!

I'm 44, and a size 12 pear shape. Whatever it is, I need to be able to move around as I also have a 3yr old ds to chase after (big age gap!) and 6 grandchildren to deal with..... Versatile is the word I think!

I would go for separates then.

My mil wore some gorgeous linen harem ish type trouses a long line tunic with a a symmetric hem and then a shorter length jacket over the top. It was in taupe, cream and she had chunky silver accessories, and a white peonie flower corsage thing. Quite hippyish looking, but si

I would opt for flats or wedges to wear on my feet.

Yes to a jacket as IT will get chilly on the eve and you never know with British weather!

A silly bomber jacket would look good, or a soft biker or a good old fake knitted Chanel knock off or a tailored blazer.
