Are boots in summer still 'in'? Are these nice? Or can anyone find a cheaper version?

these suede wedge ankle boots

Am imagining wearing them with summer dresses and skirts.

Would I be better off getting a cheaper version?

Am 35, would I like ridiculous in boots in summer?

Sorry but I don't like those. I do think boots can work in summer but maybe more like ankle boots with a small heel or mid calf height. I couldn't get away with that look but do think it can work on others.

I think they're cute and would work really well with this summer's clothes.
Damn you, I fancy getting them myself.

Touch of the Cornish pastie about those ones.

I think slouchy suede ones can look great.

Yes they'll go well with this year's seventies vibe. It's also likely that trends will be similar for the next couple of years at least so you'll get some wear out of them. Fringing is a big deal this year and this would be a good way to bring that in to your spring/summer outfits.

I like them.

lol at "touch of the Cornish pastie about those ones" Grin

They just make me think of Tonto (as in the 1970s one not the Johnny Depp one)

HolgerDanske · 04/03/2015 09:32

Heheh Cornish pasty...

I think it all depends on how you wear them - almost anything can look good if you've got it just right.

If they suit your personal style (a bit boho and hippy?), google Minnetonka boots, you'll find lots of cheaper alternatives that still have that fringed music festival look.

Also think when you are likely to grab boots in summer. When it's cold? When it rains? Will you be diligent about weatherproofing them? Wink

This is the Tonto I was thinking of.

My DB had this figure as a child and I remember it's shoes being moulded plastic versions of the ones in your link!

I like them. They might look better without the wedge but I like the Minnetonka vibe.
