What kind of thing would you wear for some family photos?

We are hopefully having a photo session done soon, some indoor and some outdoor photos. What would you suggest to wear that would look reasonable in the pictures? I am a short size 10 with a very casual wardrobe!

Whatever you wear you will look back at the photos in later life and think "Christ, what do I look like?" We had some photos taken about 18 years ago - I'm wearing a lilac suit Shock and DH is wearing a ridiculous pair of glasses. Back then, we thought we looked the business.

So what I'm trying to say is, don't worry too much! Just wear something comfy and classic, no busy print.

We recently had some done and I wore a casual jumper from Baukjen in a colour that really suits me, with a navy jersey mini skirt and navy tights and boots. Casual, comfortable.

Go classic, if possible. It's hair that dates, usually, well-cut bobs seem to be the most timeless.

I had a family photo shoot not long ago. We all decided to wear denim and 'neutrals' - and by that I mean creams, beige, black, white etc, no 'colours' as such. So we looked coordinated but not too put together. I think something comfortable, flattering and plain if possible. Don't wear anything too 'fashiony' and you'll be fine.

Wear something pretty plain and pretty timeless, no prints, no logos, nothing that dates you to 2015 (although I quite enjoy seeing really dated family photos).

Photos featuring family members in a uniform of blue jeans and white shirts are the worst.

Just say no.
