S&B things you love on others but would never use/wear yourself

I've noticed a few things that I really admire on other women but just would not be right on me:

Sleeve tattoos - think they look stunning
Pastel hair colours - pale violet, candyfloss pink, silvery grey, love 'em
Heels - cannot wear them, cannot take the pain, but really admire them on other women
Hats - especially big floppy fedora types. I wear a beanie for warmth in the winter - that's it!

What do you love on others?

classic beige mac
colour makes me look near death

agree about heels and hats

bikinis!

PinkSquash · 23/02/2015 12:38

summer hats, dainty shoes, most fashion clothes, dungarees. Potentially, I love a good fake tan.

margaritasbythesea · 23/02/2015 12:46

Blanket coats and ponchos. Some women look stunning in them. I look like about 20 years older than I am. Ditto earings - very ageing on me for some reason.

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/02/2015 12:46

Flares
Big sunglasses
Ballet flats
Pillar box red lipstick
Sarong type garments
Brooches

FauxFox · 23/02/2015 12:46

Dramatic eye make up and false lashes. I look like i've been punched in the face and can never get the lashes glued on straight.

ThingummyJigg · 23/02/2015 12:53

choker-style necklaces

this is how I found out I have no neck Blush

febel · 23/02/2015 15:17

Classic cream/beige trench coat...in fact beige in general!
Maxi dresses...love them on everyone, feel horrid in mine! They are just not me
Ditto ponchos..just look stupid on me
Also, skater dresses, I am too tall, possibley too old, and look like I have borrowed my daughter's clothes ..not a good look!

Floisme · 23/02/2015 15:21

Black, white, beige, navy .... the only so called neutral that works for me is dark grey.

Lovewearingjeans · 23/02/2015 15:28

Heels. Have narrow feet and they never fit.
Statement lip, I always end up in neutrals.

Lambzig · 23/02/2015 15:31

Tunic dresses - my legs aren't good enough
Layered look - I just cant do it
Cardigans - never been able to wear one
Flat shoes with dresses/skirts in winter
White and cream - both completely drain me
mid thigh skirts - the legs again

RockMummy · 23/02/2015 17:05

Things which are described as classic. I feel like I am wearing my mothers clothes. Not my style at all but great on her and others.

Thingummu sorry but that just really made me giggle!

I can't do layers.
Kimonos look awful on me, really swampy which is strange because my whole style is a hippyish boho look.
Nose ring, my nose is too big no way would I draw attention to it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/02/2015 20:05

White shirts, of both the crisp, work-esque and the loose boho style. Adore them but they look absolutely hideous on me.

Leather leggings, they look so fantastic but I dread to think what they'd be like on me!

Turquoiseblue · 23/02/2015 22:19

Wrap dresses....they look fabulous on others, but horrible on me

Flat forms - actually who do they look good on?

Trench coats- especially the current loosely style unstructured ones - the can look super cool on Pin, on me ..... bag lady.....

Peter Pan collars or grandad collars

Oh... Converse or high tops..... Not me either

linalool · 23/02/2015 22:23

White coats. Make me look like I am in a lab.

SpecificOcean · 23/02/2015 23:06

Low waist jeans- so uncomfortable, made me feel like I'd had surgery

Crop tops- just haven't got the stomach for them these days

Short shorts-unless I'm at the beach, too self conscious in them.

Anything too dressy or formal - it's just not me

BallroomWithNoBalls · 23/02/2015 23:17

Ponchos on me too, Zara have some lovely ones in but they make me look ten times the size I am.

Leather leggings but only because I'm pregnant, next winter I'll be all over them.

Beige and cream - I look dead in them.

Dark navy and white striped Breton tops - for two reasons: I am terrified of washing things with contrasting colour, and also because the boxy shape doesn't work on me, I need a long fitted one.

BallroomWithNoBalls · 23/02/2015 23:18

Oh and bleach blonde hair. Love it so much but when I tried it went orange and half my hair fell out Sad

BlueEyedWonder · 24/02/2015 06:46

Maxi dresses - too short
Wide leg trousers - ditto
New Balance trainers with skinny jeans - Look like I forgot to change my shoes after exercise
Boho - Resemble mad bag lady

Eustasiavye · 24/02/2015 07:32

Dainty sandals
Short shorts
Shorts in general look awful on me.

freshbakedcakes · 24/02/2015 11:08

Converse/pumps. I have short legs which aren't stick thin, but size 6 shoe, so I just look like a clown in them.

yy to heels. I'm in flats nearly all the time except on a rare night out. I just can't walk in them and always feel unsteady on my feet.

CointreauVersial · 24/02/2015 12:56

Jumpsuits. Look gorgeous on other people but I feel like a hippo in them.

Tucked in tops. I think I must have a short body, because the proportions always look wrong.

Spindly, strappy shoes. Not with my wide buniony feet.
