dressing gowns?

can anyone recommend a winter weight dressing gown that doesn't make you look like the back end of a bus. I am not particularly large but for some reason every towelling dressing gown I have ever had as made me look like a hippo. Anyone know of anything that is a little more flattering?

you need microfleece, not towelling.
M&S sometimes have good ones but my sister and I both have corking ones by Elle from John Lewis - long, hooded and cosy but still retaining a modicum of style!

(can't find it online at the mo but will post if I do)

I cannot bear the feeling of fleece on damp skin

thanks MrsBadger ... will have a look in M&S .. desperately need something more flattering!

at the idea of ever looking attractive in a dressing gown - if I'm in one, it's before 7am and I'm on the sofa asleep in front of CBeebies...

It might not bother you at all, cjmummy. I'm just a bit funny about it, it sets my teeth on edge [weirdo emoticon]

I have a mid weight waffle one from M & S which is not too hippo like but not as cosy as a towelling one.

Sophiev73 ... not sure I am even aiming for attractive .. just less hideous! I have a thinner one for summer that is far better (at least it makes me look as if I have some sort of waist) but I tend to put one on in the evening sometimes when it is cold or on weekend mornings. My f-i-l has a nasty habit of turning up unannounced at the crack of dawn!
