Next relaxed skinnies - gone very baggy, can I return once worn?

Hi

Recently bought a pair of next relaxed skinnies and sized down however have worn them a few times and also washed once and they are hideously baggy. The waist is so large I need a belt on and even then they just sag. I know they're a more relaxed fit but they are really quite bad. Can I return them even though they're worn? I bought them 3-4 weeks ago (ironically it's the second pair of next jeans bought that day returned as the others got a huge hole in at seam)
Thanks

I would

looki · 23/02/2015 00:24

An assistant in TopShop told me people bring back jeans all the time for that reason.

MissBlake · 23/02/2015 01:01

Next skinny jeans are a nightmare, both pairs I have had increased by 2 sizes by the end of the day.

Whippet81 · 23/02/2015 09:12

Yes I would - I have started to be a bit more fussy and take things back. I took back a H&M t-shirt I had worn twice a couple of weeks back - it had really bobbled and I thought sod it - it was only £12.99 but still.

LL0015 · 23/02/2015 09:29

Def return. For full refund! If no receipt get it on bank statement and show them that.

HermiioneSnape02 · 23/02/2015 10:20

I did for that exact reason, looked like I was wearing DH jeans by the end of the day and so uncomfortable.

The lady did call over the manager but I did get a refund.

MrsTShelby · 23/02/2015 13:33

I am going to take 2 pairs back. Have had them 2 weeks worn them couple of times and washed once - 1 pair has a waist that is an inch bigger and saggy knees the other the waist has grown by over 2 inches!!!

I know they are not expensive but I expect jeans to last longer than a fortnight and 1 wash!!!

bertiebogtrotter · 23/02/2015 13:37

I would take them back. Next jeans are terrible for this, I steer well clear of them now

Girlsbrigadewashorrible · 23/02/2015 13:43

My relaxed skinnies also went very baggy and I wish I'd returned them. I washed them at 60 degrees and they shrunk a bit so not too bad now. I wouldn't buy them again. My best jeans at the moment are from Primark.

AgathaF · 23/02/2015 14:05

Next jeans are really bad for this. I guess if more of us returned them, then they might do something about it. Nice to know other people have returned and got a full refund.

OnIlkleyMoorBahTwat · 23/02/2015 14:09

I returned some to Next for this reason a couple of years ago. I took them into the shop expecting an argument and picked up a pair off the rack so I could demonstrate how big they'd got. They refunded without question.

honeypie10 · 23/02/2015 14:25

I cancelled my next account for this reason, all the stuff i bought from there went horrible after the first wash, the jeans especially looked like they had gorwn 3 sizes by the end of there first wear.

PrimalLass · 23/02/2015 16:23

They have ruined relaxed skinnies. I really hope they change the fabric back.

Itwontletmenamechange · 23/02/2015 16:29

I returned and changed for smaller size. No questions asked. Probably should have got a refund and tried elsewhere but that would require another shopping trip and I cba.

If you look at the reviews, this seems to be a huge issue. They are rated really poorly because of it.

I just bailed and got different skinnies instead.

ALittleLemonTwist · 23/02/2015 22:16

I took mine back. They wouldn't give me a refund but got a credit note instead. Wish I had put up a fight for a refund but couldn't be arsed.

WeatherWatchingWitch · 23/02/2015 22:19

I love their 'Lift, slim and shape' skinnies but they are expensive £45 a pair and do stretch over time. A hot wash helps bring them back into line!

Smize · 23/02/2015 22:29

Wish I'd thought to take mine back. They looked fab the first time I wore them but after one wash the waist had stretched by about 3 sizes. Now just worn for dog walking, need hoicking up every few yards though Smile

MrsTShelby · 24/02/2015 13:19

We'll I took mine back today, both pairs and they said they would refund on my directory account (which ordered them through).

ScrambledEggAndToast · 24/02/2015 13:27

Go for it. I'm just surprised so many of you are having problems with Next jeans. I always get my jeans in the petite range as they fit really well and last ages.

itsnothingoriginal · 24/02/2015 16:40

Yy to Next petite range skinnies - they are much better quality than the relaxed ones.

I bought relaxed skinnies from Next Clearance that grew in size so washed at 60, tumbled dried on hot then hot iron. They have shrunk a bit but shouldn't be necessary to do so when clearly is just poor quality material at fault.

PrimalLass · 24/02/2015 16:44

The petite ones were too low rise for my muffin top.

LoveVintage · 24/02/2015 17:43

Glad I saw this thread. I have a couple of pairs of older relaxed skinnies and they fitted great. I bought a pair in the sale last month and they have gone huge. I have washed them at a high temperature a couple of times to see if that makes any difference, if it doesn't ill take them back.

carlywurly · 24/02/2015 21:21

I used to love next jeans but the fabric they use is so cheap and nasty it's false economy. They're practically disposable.

Got a gorgeous pair of 7 for all mankind relaxed skinny jeans in tk maxx at the weekend for £29.99 and the quality is so much better. Expensive jeans in the sale are the only way to go until the high street sorts itself out. Imo Smile
