I've discovered a way to get clean hair!

This might sound silly but for the past couple of weeks I haven't been able to get my hair clean. After I washed it it looked and felt , well dull, greasy and unwashed. I tried different shampoos including clarifying ones. I shampooed really well, rinsed really well, all that I could think of. Then I read about doing a final rise with bottled water. I didn't hold much hope, but it has been transformative. My hair is swishy and shiney and clean looking.
I live in a hard water area which I'm sure didn't help.
Anyway, just a thought for any of you who are struggling with dull, limp tresses.....

Did you warm the water up beforehand (which bottled water was it, out of interest?)? I am flinching at the idea of cold water running down my back :)

I may try that.

Mixing a bit of baking soda in with your shampoo works a treat too (applying to only soaking wet hair)

Leo, no I used it at room temp. I hate cold things but actually it wasn't nearly as hideous as I was expecting. The water wasn't 'posh' just cheap stuff from aldi or asda. It has made a huge difference to the condition of my hair though

pinkrocker I have heard about using baking soda. Doesn't it dry your hair out?

Never tried it myself but wouldn't a filter on the shower have the same effect? I remember Jonathan Antin from the reality series Blowout marketing them years ago.

Thanks bigbuttons... :)

It did dry it out, intentionally, as my roots get quickly greasy! But as long as you put conditioner on the lengths at the same time it's great!
