Can anyone help finding a decent sports bra?

I think I am looking for the impossible. Or it sure feels like it. Requirements are:

  • Needs to come in a 30 inch back (rules out 90% of all bras immediately)
  • Must have shaped cups and not the mono-boob, squashed look
  • Needs to be at least medium support.

Is this a totally impossible quest? I just want something that doesn't look awful under a vest. Anyone founds anything like this? Or know where I could look?

Panache Ultimate Sports. Its the absolute business, especially for cups at F and beyond. Holds my 30GG's rock solid. It has cups but also a one piece front to give double level support, so it might be just a bit too flattened and utilitarian for you?

HazleNutt · 01/02/2015 15:04

Panache and Freya both come even in 28 backs. If you want shaped cups then this gives a very nice shape, not a squashed one. www.freyalingerie.com/active/sports/mouldedsportsbra/zinc15/moulded_sports_bra.aspx?colour=zinc

Freya are good, check out house of Fraser and debenhams blue cross sales, I think they end today but I'm looking for a 34g and they didn't have any but they seemed to have a lot of smaller back sizes if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the really quick replies. Part of the problem is that I don't have large breasts and I'm not really looking for something to contain me so much as give me a bit of definition. To be honest the support aspect doesn't even really matter because frankly, after years of feeding that horse has already bolted! But what that does mean is that soft cup bras just make me look awful. I think that realistically, I'm looking for the sport equivalent of a decent shaping bra.

I like the one you linked to Hazle - although it's not available in my size. But I might see if I can find it elsewhere.

shock absorber also has some shaped ones - I know they theoretically start at 32, but they are very tight, I always go up a back size.

CMOTDibbler · 01/02/2015 15:14

How about this one?

BlameItOnTheBogey · 01/02/2015 15:15

Weep. The Freya site looked so promising. Why would you make bras in 30D but only start your B range at 34 back??

Oh cross post! Off to check out those links now.

OP posts:
BlameItOnTheBogey · 01/02/2015 15:20

CMOT thanks for the link but that starts at 32 inch back.

Hazle - I really like that shock absorber one (bonus points too for finding one that has a proper clasp back and that I wouldn't her to try and wrestle off after a work out). But I'm really nervous about 32 inch back. I'm a small 30 inch as it is.

CMOTDibbler · 01/02/2015 15:20

Blast, that one doesn't go down to a 30 back. This one does though

dementedpixie · 01/02/2015 15:23

what size are you looking for?

BlameItOnTheBogey · 01/02/2015 15:28

Thanks CMOT will check that one out.

Demented 30B.

www.amazon.co.uk/Pink-Padded-Underwired-Sports-Impact/dp/B00C2T8LGM - bright pink one?

BlameItOnTheBogey · 01/02/2015 15:36

Huh! That amazon one may be just what I am looking for! I don't love the colour at all and wouldn't be able to wear it under white tanks but in every other way it looks like it might be perfect - so maybe I can't be fussy about colour. Thanks demented.

white one on ebay

dementedpixie · 01/02/2015 15:39

BlameItOnTheBogey · 01/02/2015 15:40

Demented, you are fantastic! Thank you.

why thank you Grin

BadlyDrawnBuoy · 01/02/2015 17:35

I'm a 30c but was told by some v experienced runners it's sometimes better to go up a back size and down a cup size.

I recently bought this Nike bra in a 32b

m.jdsports.co.uk/product/nike-pro-rival-bra/137792

It's utterly brilliant! Gives excellent shape & support. I ran 10k race in it today & it felt great.

Littlepumpkinpie · 01/02/2015 18:22

Panache is the ones I use they go down to a 28 back look on ebay you can get them brand new for £15

Leviticus · 01/02/2015 18:27

Shock absorber ultimate run bra.

Rock solid, two boobs, small band sizes.

HazleNutt · 01/02/2015 18:29

I'm normally a 30 back as well, but definitely need at least 32 and have some 34s as well in Shock absorber, so might still be worth a try.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 01/02/2015 18:30

I bought an Under Armour one recently and it's the best I've ever had, so supportive and zips up the front so you don't need to be a contortionist to get it on or off...

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/02/2015 19:51

The Shock Absorber is definitely small in the band - as a borderline 28/30 I had to get a 32 in it!
