I need a black tie dress

I have been invited to a black event. It's business rather than pleasure, and I work in fairly traditional, make dominated industry - so thigh slits and low cleavages would be inappropriate.

I'm 44, 5'8, curvy size 14, mucky blonde hair, fair skin. Bottom heavy. Round sticky out tummy. Am frequently told I look younger.

I live in jeans and stripey tops, jeans and hi vis jacket or a line knee length skirt and shirt. I am a bit scared of anything too trendy.

I tend to wear pale blue, navy, purple and pinky red, although burgundy red around my face really doesn't suit me. Jewellery will be silver (I don't like gold, don't have any).

I have a lovely pinky-red dress from Bravissimo about 6 years ago, but this is only knee length so I don't think it would be right.

Budget about £100.

Knee length is fine for black tie.

Knee-length definitely fine - it's really only full length for balls (and even that's becoming rarer.

Wear the dress you already have - could always use up the budget on the shoes?
