Why do tennis players still wear dresses/skirts

Why not just shorts or hot pant things

Plenty of sports still wear skirts, hockey, netball, etc.

You can actually move more in a skirt than in shorts, unless they are stretchy- maybe that is why?

It's usually skorts nowadays.

Players can wear shorts if they choose (except Wimbledon, which has a fossilised dress code). I don't know why players make the choices they do.

I'd forgotten about hockey. I'll look at them again next time I go. If some of them wear shorts

Because if the weather is hot they are cooler and less restricting around the waist and crotch.

Because they look cuter
