cos they were too small (pre preg) or too large (post preg) or too boring

and you wanted to spend say, £100 to get some new ones

bearing in mind that you wouldn't be able to mix and match them with any of the crap you already had

what would you buy? (this isn't hypothetical it's for me, so don't post with any ridiculous ideas about skinny jeans cos I'd look terrible)

£100 for whole new wardrobe?

flack · 19/10/2006 21:44

I'd be hitting the charity shops; aim to get 3 full day outfits plus presumably some pants, bras, etc (pants and bras bought new, from Asda, if £100 is the budget!).

Cappuccino · 19/10/2006 21:45

I would start by re-assessing the boring ones and see if they suited me, despite boringness and could be jazzed up a bit depending upon what was worn with them.

And depending upon size and shape I would go to Topshop and buy some knitwear, a few tops and some accessories

MrsSpoon · 19/10/2006 21:52

A pair of jeans, a pair of black trousers, a selection of t-shirts and a jumper or cardi are what I would buy, hopefully within £100.

Cappuccino · 19/10/2006 21:53

I had forgotten TopShop!

that's how bad it had got

I'd get a couple of scoop neck plain tops from Matalan for £3 each. Obviously a pair of jeans, presumably bootleg if you are not happy with skinny, dunno where from though but somewhere cheap. A skirt, maybe from Asda or New Look. A couple of pairs of patterned tights. Reckon if you tried hard you could get all that for £60. A tank top and a vest top that could be worn over the plain tops so that would put you up to £75. Some sort of long jumper. That would then be £90. Last £10 I don't know.

What I have posted can be done. Recently I have bought the following:

Plain top Matlan - £3 (but there were lots of colours so could have got two)
Jeans Asda - £16 (but they were skinny which you don't want)
Skirt Matalan sale - £8
Vest top Asda sale - £1.50
Tank top type thing Matalan sale - 36
Long jumper Matalan - £12
Wrap dress H&M - £20

Second hand shoes Bloodyhowler??? Bllurrgh!
Cappuccino, get youself to Asda or New Look for shoes they may not last a lifetime but they are new and might cost you as little as £5 per pair. (in sale)

Cappuccino · 19/10/2006 21:58

Beafryd2veryafrydnervesleft · 19/10/2006 22:00

Well thats a good start then.

I agree with the £3 tops in primark and tank top thing - hids my muffin top - not that I'm suggesting you have one of course.

Lact8HisLiverWithANiceChianti · 19/10/2006 22:02

New Look have got great longsleeved, not too low scoop necked tops for £4!! I bought the black one, they've got them in about 8 different colours, I've worn it, not too clingy around the middle, washed it and its kept it's shape. All for £4! I'm going to get another one in a different colour.

Primark had some nice cords in not so long ago, they are a bit straight legged but not too skinny £8

What footwear do you already have?

harpsichordcarrion · 19/10/2006 22:03

I would go to H&M and Matalan and Peacocks...
personally
£100 goes a long way in H&M ime

Cappuccino · 19/10/2006 22:04

& flattish brown knee boots

and heeled black thing for dressed up

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrion · 19/10/2006 22:04
