Warm but stylish coat for very chilly conditions?

Off to Boston next week which is still knee deep in snow! Assuming that it melts somewhat, and the plane lands etc etc... I am just thinking about my wardrobe! My everyday warm coat is a moleskin duffle type thing from Boden. It's nice, but pretty worn, a bit shapeless and definitely not stylish, although fine for what I use it for.

But I dont know if I should look for a new coat to bring? Something warm but sharp- msybe a short coat? I have a smart black work coat but it is a bit tight to close as I haven't quite lost all my baby weight yet!!

It will probably be tricky enough to find something now winter season is coming to an end and I obviously don't want anything so warm that I wouldn't wear it over here....

I just wondered if anyone reading this has a coat that they love and would like to recommend that ticks my boxes?! Thanks!

Anyone?! Maybe this is a sign to just wear the shapeless Boden one and stop frittering away my hard earned cash Grin

Everybody wears those North Face padded coats in Boston.

I've got a Lands End Padded Parka.I might not win any style awards but I'm warm.

Second vote for Lands End. I've had a padded down jacket for 6 years showing no signs of wear. It's quite nice and fitted so you don't get Michelin man effect. They might have sale stock.

North face parka if you can stretch to it - it'll last you years though...

Uniqlo has some of their down coats in the sale.

yazzy85 · 30/01/2015 23:03
