I'm SO fed up with spending ages doing my nails then having them smudge/fabric imprint etc .. when I think they're completely dry. How do I dry them reasonably quickly but solidly?

Also best brand of polish? ... I've been doing my own gels for ages so used to having perfectly polished nails but it's making them weak so they need a break.

I was given some illamasqua polish for christmas and it's really good. Agree two thin layers and seche vite.

At the moment I'm using mavala base coat and essie top coat and the results for staying power are really good. Normally I can't get 24hrs but with these my home polish is lasting three days.

George at Asda are dreadful! Love all mavala tho.

Chasingtherainbow, I use regular nail polish remover to remove the gel polish (cotton pads soaked in it, wrapped in foil around the nail). I do think its good to let your nails have a break every now and then though, I give mine a breather every couple of months.

Essie 'good to go' gives epic shine & makes them 'touchable' within a minute.

Amazing stuff...

I use a hair dryer.

I do mine before bed. They get touch dry, I get DH to help me undress, then they're properly set by the next morning.
