Problem with Boden biker boots falling apart - are my feet the cause?

I bought a pair of biker-style ankle boots a couple of months ago - Boden brand but end-of-line from a small supplier. I wore them a few times (and only had them for 2 weeks) when the soles suddenly disintegrated - the heel came off, the sole split and the boots fell apart!

The supplier had another pair in my size so I exchanged them thinking it was just bad luck and incredibly the same thing has happened with the second pair, in roughly the same timescale.

Getting a refund isn't a problem but it's been suggested that it may be my feet/gait causing the problem. Has anyone else managed to destroy boots in this way by merely walking around a few times?

I will post pics in a sec Smile

There is no way your gait could have destroyed a pair off boots in two weeks. They were shoddily made. Get your money back.

Another example of Boden quality degrading.

No, not your fault. It's a really bad place to put a join in material - bound to give!

Badly made

Thanks for all your replies. It's so strange - if the quality of these boots was consistently bad, then surely there would be tons of people complaining of the same thing? It's not like it was gradual wearing - it happened extremely quickly. And when you actually look at the construction of the sole, it's really easy to see how it happened - the weak join between the sole and the heel, plus the stitching in the sole doesn't appear to be actually attaching the sole to anything.

It did cross my mind that they might be fakes - I wonder if that's at all likely... Or is the quality really that bad with Boden?

Interestingly, the first pair I was sent were a natural tan leather colour, but you can probably see in the pictures that the replacement pair as a less natural 'leather' colour, and it's almost as if the leather has been coated with brown paint. And these didn't retail cheap!

I suspect that's why the "small supplier" had them. They were end of line for a reason (they were crap).

I would suspect fakes I'm afraid- or ones that didn't pass quality control. Boden usually get rid of their unsold stuff in town hall clearance sales.
