The perfect long sleeve, plain cotton top

MissMiss1 · 24/01/2015 22:50

I'm searching for the perfect plain top

Long sleeves, round neck

To wear under tops, with jeans or for lazing around

I've had a few from Matalan which have lasted pretty well but wondered if there is anything better, as I live in these tops

Any recommendations?

Gah...I was going to say Matalan. Other than that, I would suggest Boden's crew neck tops.

My new favourite - H & M do an ethical range with long sleeved cotton tops in. They're nice and thick, generously sized, I think the ethical part is they're organic cotton and fair trade (though I'm not 100% sure on both these claims), loads of colours and some striped ones etc, and they're £7.99 each.

Primark have some. I bought a navy, a dark green and a black last weekend for £3.50 each. There are lots more colours.

I came on to say the H&M ones! Really nice, good long body and sleeves, none of this waist and wrist flapping.

I've just bought three from Next. They have a really good range of colours and have washed and tumble dried well, so far.

I've got some from Dorothy Perkins from last year and they are still in shape and haven't shrunk.

Sainsburys TU, £10,or wait for the 25% off

They are fab, I live in plain longsleeved black tops, they are not the cheap ribbed cotton but gota good elastane content, really smooth and wash fab

I got one of the h and m ones last week, its nice so far but I found the neckline a little lower than id like, not indecent but quite a scoop! Its in the wash now so I cant vouch for washability just yet, but I like the fact it has a long body and comes to my hips properly!

I have a few of the black primark £3.50 ones, have washed really well. Don't normally like primark.

Thank you for the suggestions ladies

Do you find yours shrink after washing?

I've got quite long arms and often find that after a few washes the sleeves are not as long

Uniqlo

JoyceDivision · 25/01/2015 21:01

The sainsburys ones don't shrink, and I find the sleeves are generous, i have to roll the cuffs back a little

shins · 25/01/2015 21:27

Have to add Uniqlo. I love these, they wash well and last ages.

I second Uniqulo. Today I am wearing a scoop neck grey long sleeved T shirt that I bought 6 years ago

Kids H&M range are perfect if you want a high neck.
The age 12-13 fit me and I'm not petite
