Am hacked off, as I was going to hire this fantastic silk Peas In A Pod dress from thematernitycollection.com, but they called today and told me they can't get it to me for 2 weeks.

I've got a budget of about £80, and can be in Oxford Street on Friday.

I'm 5'3, 31, got a goodly bump, and haven't got the thighs for short skirts. (Quite small apart from that though).

I've also still got sh*tty morning sickness, and not much energy, hence my cry for help from the MN style gurus.

Anyone?

or

Debenhams have a reasonable maternity range, and some of their outfits could work for an autumn wedding.

This time last year, at about 20 wks, I wore a gorgeous burgundy top from there, with black trousers and a black wrap around shawl, and a skinny scarf with a necklace underneath.

It attracted a lot of comments and I felt a million dollars. What's great about pregnancy is that you are not expected to follow the usual rules.

poo

this?

topshop have got a lovely balloon sleeved wrap dress atm, but it is black, so may not be quite the thing, only £35. The Oxford St store have got a fab maternity bit too.

TheBlonde · 18/10/2006 21:02

Topshop, Debenhams, H&M are all there
I think New Look are also doing maternity
Plus M&S

Warehouse has just launched a new maternity range online. I've had a look and it looks quite good.

puppydavies · 18/10/2006 21:04

some of the new warehouse evening stuff is nice, i seem to remember a gorgeous duck egg silk top but i can't get the site up at the moment (warehouse.co.uk)

I like the Isabella Oliver one, although it looks a bit skinny, and I'm a bit scared of my arse right now. It feels like I've got a couple of beanbags stuffed in my pants.

Of course I shall try Topshop: be rude not to. And Debs is always a good bet.

I'm so blimmin' knackered, that's the problem. Have any of you spotted any dresses that have wowed you recently?

is online only - too short notice i guess

marymillington · 18/10/2006 21:08

Isabella Oliver v flattering, cut well, not clingy.

if worried about the bum area, can strongly recommend mamaspanx tights for smooth lines, about £18 but are excellent, like magic knickers for bumps.

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 18/10/2006 21:10

exactly.

I'm really pee-ed off with thematernitycollection. My lovely friend gave me a £40 voucher for my birthday, and chose the dress a month ago. As it's hire, I didn't want to order too early, and they claimed they delivered next day.

OTOH, they were very apologetic, and agreed to refund the gift-voucher as cash as an apology.

I'll just have to keep myself stocked up with fattening food so I can stay on my feet long enough on Friday.

Mamaspanx? Never heard of them - hilarious name. Maybe I'll pop to Selfridges. Underwear dept. is fantastic, and they might well have something 'round the £80 mark.

I'll miss London when we move...

You can get the Mamaspanx (they're tights by the way) in John Lewis.
