Boots with Cut Outs - How to wear them?

If you own this style of boot please can you tell me how you wear them?

With or without socks? Bare feet or pop socks? Do they look best with skinny jeans?

Coming into the Spring I am tempted (not by the MV ones in particular) but I would appreciate your wise advice first!

I have a vampish black leather pair, which I wear with fishnet pop socks - though I'm a bit of a goth at heart.

I'd wear those with a cable knit pair of socks, in a contrasting colour. Hate cold toes!

I would probably wear them with fine trouser socks because i too hate cold feet and actually hate feet in shoes without any socks. Failing that, tight sock things or even trainer socks if you would rather not see the sock.
