Brittle hair - please help!

Do any of you know of any miracle products that stop fine, brittle hair from breaking?

My hair is very fine so I think that could be the cause as I think I take reasonably good care of it. I trim it regularly but still have loads of split ends and my hair breaks when I brush it. I'm not really into grooming but this does my head in!

Does your haur need protein? Read here to see if it does and if so advice on which protein treatment to use. I have never used Aphogee 2 step that it recommends as it is very strong, but you can buy it and the 2 minute treatment in Those big hair shops that sell extensions etc.

Interesting ForSale. How did you find the 2 minute treatment?

I have curly hair and when my hair is looking stringy and not forming big burks, I use it. I get my curls back instantly and my lovely ringlets!

How brittle are you talking? If you pull out a hair does it snap in half without applying any tension? Or do you have to pull a little before it snaps? If it's really brittle then I'd recommend getting blood tests to rule out low ferritin and vitamin d. My hair is v fine but became so mega fine and brittle it was just snapping off with any little pressure. GP put me on iron and vitamin d supplements. She said the ferritin level needed to be around 100 for healthy hair and the threshold for vit d is (I think?) somewhere round 70.

Are you eating enough protein? Are you low carbing. Not enough protein can affect hair health and low carbing can to a lesser extent.

I've just come across this thread. I think I need to try the Aphogee. I have five, chin length, brown, coloured hair (as otherwise I am very grey) and I use straighteners twice a week. I use a heat protection spray, but it clearly isn't enough to protect it with twice weekly straightening. My hair is very brittle and breaks easily, especially at the front, where it is shorter than at the back due to so much breakage. When I comb my hair over the sink, it breaks lots.

Which of the Aphogee products would I need to buy? I get that I need to buy the protein treatment, but which deep conditioner do I buy for use afterwards? Should that be an Aphogee one, or somehting else? I've never used a deep conditioning treatment so I am a bit clueless.

Institute I think I'd have to pull a little for it to snap. It sounds similar to WellTidy's, it breaks as I brush/comb.

I don't restrict my diet at all, eat lots of carbs and protein. I was a bit underweight before having dd, am in the right bmi range now though. My hair has been like this for a really long time, way before I got pregnant. Maybe I could try taking iron (am taking vitamin d tablets atm) and seeing if that makes a difference.
