Looking for hair inspiration

I have a long boring bob at the moment. Dark hair and it's just flat. Inspire me for the hair dresser next week. I'm thinking choppy, messy easy to style.

I'm in the same rut although I did go for the choppy easy cut 3 years ago and it was no way easier than long and boring read tied up all day

I recently bought a babylis big hair and it has added volume and helped me wear my hair down instead of up all the time.

Watching your thread with interest,

I did that about 3 months ago, and regretted it very quickly. Largely because now I need to take much more care styling it or it looks a bit nuts, and it is more difficult to put up tie back (the shorter bits fall out very easily). And now I know it's going to take ages to grow out the choppiness. I had a blunt fringe cut about a month ago to make it a bit better, which has worked for me as it makes it look more of a defined shape.

Maybe a fringe (sideswept or blunt) or some colour (highlights, lowlights, semi permanent tint, bayalage, ombre) would ring the changes instead.

Wary of choppy hairstyles. I had choppy layers cut into my long straight bob in September. Looked great when I left the salon. Looked shit ever after.

It took ages to style in the morning. Each layer had to be blowdried individually. Arm ache hell and it still looked crap.

Could you just get one layer cut in for added volume? A side fringe? Some layers cut in to frame the face?

Anything but the dreaded choppy layer!

Should add that five months later it STILL hasnt grown out. I wear it up in a messy chignon most days and pray it will be grown out and ready for a nice trim by the summer Sad

fed up of my hair so of no practical use.

i had grown my hair and last year a hairdresser went overboard with creating a bit of texture in mine.
i have hair which is now layered but long ish ones and it seems to have taken forever to grow.

yet i can understand you wanting a change. it's finding a hairdresser who will listen and make suggestions.

getlow same here.

i have been avoiding regular trims but now my hair is breaking and ratty.

possibly due to aging tho having Googled. Sad
