To clarify I'm not a fashionista by any means but think shirt dresses will be big

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/01/2015 18:56

Functional sandals
70s inspired (flares, button front skirts, suede, patchwork, pussy bows)
Denim dresses
More lace up sandals (flats and heels and knee highs!)
Culottes
Lace/broderie anglaise/crochet
Bucket bags
Fringing

olaflikeswarmhugs · 15/01/2015 19:20

You can sY any old shit on these threads. Some of it will be right. Like A horoscope. No one comes back to check.

looki · 16/01/2015 01:02

Ummmm....... to the above poster ..... I was told by a couple of sales assistants that shirt dresses would be popular. They are already appearing in Zara etc. I wasn't just guessing but maybe the sales assistants were.......
I suppose we won't really know unless somebody here is a fashion buyer etc.

peasandlove · 16/01/2015 07:43

just through online shopping I can tell 70s fashion is coming back

zinnia · 16/01/2015 09:08

What BlairWaldorf said.

Also I keep seeing tie-front jackets (with judo style belts). And skate shoes/ flats don't seem to be going anywhere.

Personally I love a culotte and a skater shoe (though not necessarily together) so am v happy.

mirpuppet · 16/01/2015 15:54

Culotte?

How are people wearing culottes?

Look for ideas.

Silverjohnleggedit · 16/01/2015 16:14

I've ordered some culottes from asos...considering going tailored, wearing with a tucked in white shirt and some heeled shoe boots and a knitted bomber. I think you need to see the waist otherwise they look too square. Of course it's likely to be a disaster - you only have to look at some example on Pinterest to see how easily it all goes wrong.

VictorineMeurent · 16/01/2015 16:49

Lots of shirtdresses about in the SS previews and pictures of Alexa Chung in The Guardian in one today. I wore culottes years ago and wouldn't wear them again as they are not attractive even when fashionable. I shal be wearing heels even if flats are in as my legs in summer don't look good in flat shoes and I'm quite short.

saturnian · 16/01/2015 16:51

green, as i've seen green things in french connection and dorothy perks Grin

saturnian · 16/01/2015 16:52

i'm sorted as i always have green cullottes

frankietwospots · 16/01/2015 17:43

From what I've picked up in the mags, SS15 is all about the 70s (flares, suede, fringing), polka dots, socks and sandals (errr...no), triple denim (yes, really!), pyjama style trousers and pastel hues for Spring. I'm channelling the 70s vibe today in wide leg dark denim, tan wedge boots, Breton and a cropped faux fur jacket. It feels quite refreshing to have a different silhouette to the usual skinny jeans!

mirpuppet · 16/01/2015 19:36

Thanks for the tips re cullottes. Realise they may be disaster waiting to happen -- but I will give it a try with a top that shows my waist.

member · 16/01/2015 19:47

Yes, 70s inspired including culottes but I don,t think they are going to be as wide as in the past, more like a longer version of city shorts.

Cobalt blue apparently(though don't see that as fitting in to 70s)

Not a fashionista but read Grazia at the hairdressers last week Wink

dexter73 · 16/01/2015 19:56

I bet I see more people wearing skinnies and a stripy top than I do wearing culottes, flares and shirt dresses this spring!

Lambstales · 16/01/2015 20:05

The 70s.
Everything that I have seen in the fashion pages looks as if it from that era.

I will NOT be revisiting.

FourFlapjacksPlease · 16/01/2015 20:43

culottes, nautical (particularly stripes) pastels (with a retro 50's vibe) flares, bright yellow, duster jackets in colours and prints, loose boyfriend type shirts, washed chambray fabrics, obi belts and flat ugly shoes!!!

ZammoMcGuire · 16/01/2015 20:52

lol at dexter

im not buying summer stiff this year- 5 years of buying clothes i wear for 12 weeks is pointless

ZammoMcGuire · 16/01/2015 20:53

culottes have been out of fashion for ages for a reason

CointreauVersial · 16/01/2015 20:54

Oh man, I hate culottes. Maybe I'll be eating my words in due course, but I don't think so.

I have an Obi belt, and never found anything to wear it with.

FourFlapjacksPlease · 16/01/2015 21:04

Obi belts can look great with a white shirt. I have a rose gold leather one that I love. I won't be wearing culottes as my arse is too big - love them on small arced people though!

FourFlapjacksPlease · 16/01/2015 21:04

*arsed obvs

peasandlove · 16/01/2015 21:55
