I have to wear sensible flat black shoes for work. ATM I wear cute little mary janes (complete with t-bar) but they are just not cutting it I am currently doing 13 hour days which involve a 40 minute walk to and from work and I am often on my feet for most of the day so I need shoes that can support my feet for 14 hours + at a time.

I have just done 2 long days and I am on so much pain I am struggeling to walk!

I love super super flat shoes like ballet pumps and I don't want to end up in Clark's loafers.

I KNOW its work and it doesn't matter but it does! Oh and my trousers are straight leg so superflat ballet pumps look quite cool with them too...

But I need to be able to walk home at the end of my shift without crippling pain, choices, choices?

So superflat trendy shoes that are v.v.v.v.comfy.

Wear proper trainers for the walk in and out at least.Ballet pumps not great for standing in all day. Also insoles help.

Yup, agree with Sorrell. Supportive trainers for the walking bit, and your flat pumps for work.

I bought some MBT trainers for walking in and they are incredibly comfy as well as apparently getting rid of cellulite and making your legs thinner (I'm skinny anyway, so don't know whether that's true). V.good for walking to and fro, but very expensive for a student nurse unless you have a rich dh
