I am a reliable size 10 but post 3 children I have a very wobbly tummy. I think a higher rise might hide this. I also have no real arse to speak of and slim legs. Where can I find a pair of jeans that will flatter me and not break my bank balance please? I trekked round the shops for hours today but gave up in the end because it made me feel ragey thanks very much

my vote is for uniqlo

lolalotta · 11/01/2015 18:17

I like M&S skinny jeggings, they are high waisted, a really good fit and look like jeans! Smile

wishingchair · 11/01/2015 18:25

I like the next slim and shape (or lift and shape??) skinnies. Dark blue, come to just below belly button, and fit well. £45.

Wassat · 11/01/2015 18:46

Excellent, thanks -I'll get googling. I'm going to have to do it online, I can't face another awful trudge round the shops Smile

Vero moda wonder jeggings

High rise - holds it all in and keep shape well

WestYorkshireGirl · 11/01/2015 18:57

Can I ask a perhaps obvious question - if you get higher rise, how do you avoid 'muffin top' spilling out over the top?!

Blanketontheground · 11/01/2015 18:59

Linea by house of Fraser. Great quality denim that keeps it's shape. I'll try to link.

mowglik · 11/01/2015 19:05

Yup just buy a whole bunch of skinnies from a dept store that will do loads of brands easier to do returns that way

Another vote for next skinnies

Wassat · 11/01/2015 19:44

That's the thing- I don't want muffin top or baggy knees:( thanks for the recommendations

Try the 7 for all mankind sale. High rise and no muffin top. I am not sure what they have left

newgirl · 11/01/2015 19:47

YOu could go to a designer shop and get a pair for that in the sale? Any really pricey boutiques near you? I spend about that on jeans used to be 180-220

StrikesMatches · 11/01/2015 19:49

I bought a pair of Alice slim cut jeans in Mango yesterday and I'm thrilled with them. I recently bought high rise tube trousers(jeggings?) in river island. I like the fit on the legs but the crotch keeps heading towards my knees...

HandMini · 11/01/2015 19:53

I've got some super soft high rise skinnies from J Crew. I love them and they are my winter staples. So snug to tuck your shirt right in, a la Cowell!

noddyholder · 11/01/2015 19:54

For your shape the primark push up push in are brilliant £11

LexieSinclair · 11/01/2015 20:00

I like the Next ones too. They're the only ones that don't give me a muffin top or sag round the crotch after a couple of wears.

fiorentina · 11/01/2015 20:08

I also rate Uniqlo for value. I used to be a Gap fan but now tend to favour Uniqlo for quality and fit. If you're near London you could try a session Selfridges instead trying on lots of different brands.

Wassat · 11/01/2015 20:19

No, bristol is my nearest city. Am I right in thinking a size 10 usually equates to a 28" waist? Dh has just announced the jeans I'm currently in 'do me no favours at all' thanks darling so all advice appreciated!

your body sounds similar to mine. My favourite ones are the Zara mid rise skinny jeans, esp in the TRF at range. If in between sizes, size down.

noddyholder · 12/01/2015 08:30

Yes TRF are really good forgot those!

HandMini · 12/01/2015 11:15

Yes. Sz 10 wld equate to a 28 wait.

minibmw2010 · 12/01/2015 11:20

New Look do great high rise Skinnies too.

Anjelika · 12/01/2015 12:01

Hi Wassat. You sound like you could be me - I have the 3 children, the wobbly tummy, no backside and thin legs - oh and I live in Bristol! Next Lift Slim & Shape jeans work for me. They are not ridiculously high waisted like some I have tried (where the front pockets sit abnormally high) but they hold it all in and are very comfortable. I have got 2 pairs of blue and a pair of black. I prefer the slim to the skinny leg but that's just me. Next up at Cribbs usually have a good selection but I tend to order from the Directory and get them delivered for free to the shop. Then you can collect them, try them on and return the ones you don't want just in one visit.
