if you're a short, size 16 - where do you shop?

Do you shop in 'normal' high street shops or do you use plus size shops?

I'm 5'2", very busty and size 16. I tend to stick with high street Debenhams, dotty p etc (I'm skint) but I was talking to a slim friend about clothes shopping and she asked if I shop in Evans.
Nothing against plus size specialist shops - just never tried them.
I've just bought my first pair of jeggins and need some longer tops - any recommendations?

I haven't tried Evans for years- I always found everything in there very oversized iykwim? Rubbish for a short person.

I never found anything I liked in Evans, everything seemed to be tent-like rathern than trying to flatter. My last shopping spree when I was a size 18 (also 5ft2 and very busty!) was in Red Herring, M&S and Ben de Lisi/Principles. I got lovely and very flattering skinny jeans in RH, nice wide linen trousers in M&S and a couple of nice tops in BdL. I got a few nice dresses in BdL too.

That's what I thought when I had a quick look on evans' website - everything is voluminous. .. and boot cut jeans are plentiful!

Will check out Red Herring, thanks. I'm crap with clothes and tend to stick to dresses and leggings - I'm trying to broaden my horizons a bit!

I think there is no need for you to shop in Evans and the like. I am a 16 bottom and busty 18 on top and was just thinking that if I could go down a dress size on top I'd have so many more options.

For long tops I like White Stuff - I always buy in the sale or from Ebay as the full price is over budget for me at the moment.

Lots of high street shops do a size 16. Have you tried Fat Face for tops? I'm sure there would be lots in H&M and New Look too.

I've been browsing sales. Yumi have lots of lovely dresses reduced but they only go to size 16 so sadly out of my range at the moment.

Used to be 18 on top and 14 on bottom, now 16 on top and 10 on bottom and so I find i get away with a 14 in dresses in New Look and Monsoon
