I saw just the thing yesterday whilst in my quest for comfy shoes/boots.
Clarks have a nice boot ,high or ankle length ,flat, brown or black ,trouble was they were £70.

try jonesthebootmaker.com they have many online at sale prices and if they don't fit you can return to their store.

I just got some from a shop called shoon in salisbury but they do the same ones in jonestheootmaker. They are really comfy but are calf height so would need to be worn woth long skirts.
Sorry can't do links ,but they're called port 2 brown.

thanks for the suggestions, i have ordered these in brown, i liked the heel on them as i wanted flatish but am only 5ft 2" so the little heel will help!, am hoping they will be not quite as dark as they look in the picture though.

Clarks do some called Ojore which I can vouch for as v. comfy and tres stylish! They are d. brown oiled leather, low heel and come in 2 leg widths - normal and wide. And a bargain at £59.99.
