What shape are you and do you match me?

Having just reviewed an exchange on the wrap dress thread I'm wondering if anyone in the world has the same shape as me? I'm 5' 7'', very short waisted, HUGE norks (currently 34 L!!! in nursing bra), littlish waist and reasonably long but fattish legs, I wear everything from a size 14 to a size 20. C'mon - anyone got as weird a shape as that? If so, what the hell do you wear??

thats a big discrepancy in size sophie!!! What weight are you( well we are getting up-close and personal!)

SOULGHOUL · 14/10/2006 20:39

Dont talk to me about sizes im a Next 14 & La Redoute 20!

twinsetandpearls · 14/10/2006 20:41

I go from a 14 to an 18, think I am actually a 16 and some shops just do odd garments that are a tad small or big. Have never tried on a 20 but am sure if I di I could find a shop selling size 20 that fits!

Sophiev73 · 14/10/2006 20:43

No problem but can't help, I haven't weighed myself in years!! Don't believe in it - think it's a load of cobblers and I know too many screwed-up post-anorexics so decided to stay well clear - we don't own a pair of scales! But I'm probably about 12 stone ish and have a big bum.

Sophiev
I am apple shaped which imo has to be one of the worst shapes there is. I suffer from what I have coined the 'letitia dean syndrome' (sharon from eastenders), i'e skinny legs, but chunky upper half, therefore making you look bigger than you actually are. Luckily I don't suffer from her lack of neck and baaaaad hair as well . I am also 5'7" and I'm sure you'll agree having a bit of extra height helps you to carry excess weight. I struggle to find things to wear, as much to do with the fact I am bloody clueless about clothes, as to do with my body shape. I would kill to be pear shaped as I think overweight pear shapes carry excess weight so much more attractively than me. I have quite a big tummy and a fat back ffs. I'm finding it quite hard to picture what your body shape actually is from your post....

Sophiev73 · 14/10/2006 20:49

PMSL at Letitia Dean Syndrome!! Sorry I know it's hard to visualise me but that's the point - I look bloody huge because of my massive boobs but I have a smallish back so basically would look like Jessica Rabbit if someone stretched me - but I DON'T!! It's the short-waist thing that gets to me - everything cuts me in two.

i think la redoute need to re-think their sizes sophie

Peggotty · 14/10/2006 20:53

I take it your boobs are EXTRA huge at the mo due to bfing? You sound lovely and curvy to me . How do wide legged trousers look on you? (might disguise the 'fattish' legs, but look good as legs are long...?)

Sophiev73 · 14/10/2006 20:56

Thanks Peggoty I do try to find wide-legged trousers - luckily en vogue hurray - but my boobs are always huge, 34 FF usually (same as Jordan but without the plastic so hang like huge pittas...)

controlfreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaky2 · 14/10/2006 20:59

er... rigby and peller for best fitting bras in the world would hoik them up to avoid hanging pitta effect.... and the wide leg trousers.... fitted v neck top. sorted

Peggotty · 14/10/2006 21:05

PITTAS!!!! pmsl!!! Reminds of a thread I saw when I first started lurking on mn a few months ago (i'm a new poster) in which someone described their boobs as 'boiled aubergines'- omg I nearly pissed myself. Not, I hasten to add, suggesting yours might fit that description..

Anyway, I love wide-legged trousers as they 'balance' my body shape out.

sassy · 15/10/2006 12:20

Hey Sphie, we are almost twins!

I too am...

5'7
HUGE norks (32H, I believe (must get remeasured) - not bfing tho)

29" waist

size 12 bum/legs.

And guess what - wrap dresses (any dresses) look awful on me too.

oxocube · 15/10/2006 18:58

5,7, usually size 12, 34dd boobs (yeuch), 29inch waist, no bum, bit of a tum, longish slim legs, skinny arms. Never tried a wrap dress but am tempted to give one a go after the wrap dress thread. Weigh about 56 kgs. Any help?
