It's just not true that wrap dresses suit everyone, is it?

Why do magazines always go on about how flattering they are? I've never found one to suit me, but shop assistants always bulldoze me into trying them on as I have a big chest and curves. I had 20 mins to find an evening dress yesterday and failed because I was stalked by an assistant insisting those damn dresses were the ones I should try on. GGRRR.

I also look crap in wrap dresses. I don't have much of a waist either so perhaps that's why.

I do think they look fantastic on some people though - especially those who are blessed in the nork department.

Id look a bag of shit in one of them...nonononono
Ive just not got the figure.

moondog · 14/10/2006 16:21

Hmm,I'm 5 8 and a 12 with fairly big norks and they don't suit moi.
I thought small norks were what is required but it seems not...

Glad I'm not the only one then! So who are these mythical beings who they do suit?

I am quite curvy, so they should suit me in theory, but I also have quite a high bust line, so they always wrap too low down on me and expose my bra. Not a good look...

cupsnakes · 14/10/2006 20:03

look awful on me - clings to my hips and makes me look lumpy, not curvy.

cupsnakes · 14/10/2006 20:05

maybe if I had a smaller waist they'd look better.
However, I do have a clingy jersey wrap style maternity dress which is much better - but I could never wear normally.

DarkAlleyBongo · 14/10/2006 20:07

i look like a sack of shit in any form of dress

controlfreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaky2 · 14/10/2006 20:27

drosophila · 14/10/2006 20:32

Wrap tops do suit me. Never tried the dresses.

RottenOtter · 14/10/2006 20:35

wrap tops no way jose they flatten my 34b chest ...wrap dresses ok though. Have to watch out that baby belly is pulled in but not to bad but only over jeans.
just ordered another from great plains
( i am quite tall though 5'7-8 so maybe thats why i dont mind them)
