It's outdoors I assume..fireworks mentioned by host. In Edinburgh.

My plan so far:

cashmere/wool long coat
hiking boots
woolen trousers
tights
two thermal vests and a sleeveless cardigan
peaked hat (bit of rain forecast)
nice scarf and brooch for vanities sake!

I assume its all quite informal and just dress for practicality:I don't own a puffer or I'd wear that!

everything you own I reckon

Not sure a wool coat is good in the rain. Better with something like a down coat with a hood. Two thermal vests and a jumper would be better. The rest seems fine.

What AF said!!

Lots of layers and keep your ears and feet warm.

Oh and leave the heating on at home and put your electric blanket on before you go.

Have a great time Grin

Socks over the tights under the trousers as well. Keep your kidneys warm!

It's cold a sunny here now but looks damp later in the week. I'd take plenty of layers but make sure you have a nice thick fleece/down layer and a waterproof on top. Take gloves, hat scarf etc too. And a hip flask!

Lots of thin layers. Pubs will be cosy so you might need to undress a few layers if you go inside.
And a wee flask of amaretto always helps warm the cockles.
Have a fab night. Been years since I had a Hogmanay up the toon. Damn rugrats Xmas Sad
