Sheepskin lined leather boots

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 28/12/2014 20:11

I have UGGs for the first time this year and they are so divinely cosy I never want to wear anything else on my feet! They are grey with Swarowski crystals and they are amazing Grin

But today for a wet walk type day out followed by pub lunch... I didn't want to get my UGGs trashed and muddy and wet, so wore nice coat and black riding boots with socks and my word my feet froze! I could barely feel my toes even by the end of the pub meal.

So - sheepskin lined boots. I want them to be like UGGs as in fully sheep lined, including the bit under your feet. And has to be real sheepskin. And leather so I can wear them for days like today and just clean them afterwards easily.

I get that this is a pricey product so has anyone seen any bargains? Or just general recommendations. I am going to try on UGG Noira but I'm not in love with the shape tbh so anything more stylish would be gratefully received.

Tia Thanks

I have shepherd of sweden boots (bought on ebay) and they very nice and warm.

here

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 17/01/2015 22:29

Ok so now I've fallen in love with the Linn boots by Shepherd! Exactly what I'm after. But I can't find them in black in a 5 anywhere. Boots of beauty

Do you speak Norwegian?

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 18/01/2015 10:15

Tethers you are amazing. I spent hours searching last night. You have superpowers Grin

Just trying to work out if they'll ship to UK now. Any Norwegian MNers to help me out here?!

You need an MNer called WickedWenchOfTheNorth. She's swedish but Norwegian and Swedish are very similar. My Swedish is only passable.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 18/01/2015 11:13

Hi Smile

I can't see anywhere on that site that they ship to Britain. It's a Swedish company actually so I went to their Swedish website but couldn't find any info there either.

Maybe you can email them and ask [email protected]?

They're also on FB, I posted a question there about shipping but no replay yet.

Enormouse · 18/01/2015 11:33

What about these on ebay? Not the Linn boots but quite similar.

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 18/01/2015 19:59

Thanks so much WickedWench! I have emailed them.

The other Shepherd ones just aren't the same - I neeeeed the Linn ones.

The Boo Roo ones are really nice and a very good price - but I think I want leather not suede as I know I can go for proper country muddy walks and they will last years. I've had suede ugg type boots before (although with a fake sheep lining) and I loved them and they did last a couple of years. Hmm.

Happy to help Smile

BikeRunSki · 18/01/2015 20:26

celtic and co do waterproof sheepskin boots.

Binkybix · 18/01/2015 20:45

I've some Gershwins but not worn them yet because I'm worried about damaging them!

What protector spray would people recommend? Will any do?

dexter73 · 18/01/2015 20:48

I haven't put any protector on my Gershwins. They have been out in mud walking the dog and I just rinsed them off afterwards. They seem very hard wearing so don't worry about damaging them!

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 18/01/2015 22:48

I looked at those BikeRunSki but they say 'showerproof' and 'water resistant' - I wouldn't trust them for jumping in walking through muddy puddles.

I have made that mistake with coats before - I walk a lot and need proper waterproof. My UGGs are a very non typical purchase for me, but they are just so cosy I need a practical version!

I just got an answer from Footway and they only ship within Scandinavia Sad

polyhymnia · 19/01/2015 12:15

I like the look of the Ugg Gershwins. And their Grandle as well.

Can anyone tell me please, how they wear the Gershwins with skinnnies - ie, jeans tucked in or what?

On a different, but still warm and comfortable style, does anyone have any views on these (top can be folded down or left up as in pic):

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 19/01/2015 12:41

I've also got the Ugg Gershwin and they are brilliant. I've had them for 2 years and the first year they were my snow boots and last year I wore them during the flooding until it got too bad and they had to be replaced by wellies. Definitely worth the money.

polyhymnia · 19/01/2015 12:54

Great to hear good reviews of UGG Gershwins - but I still need people's help on how to wear them with skinnies, please!

Plus any views on R and B boots I posted.

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 19/01/2015 13:17

Duckfeet perhaps quack

dexter73 · 19/01/2015 13:55

I tuck my skinnies in. You couldn't really wear them any other way.

polyhymnia · 19/01/2015 13:59

Fine. Just difficult to see from pics how wide the boots are.

dexter73 · 19/01/2015 14:04

They aren't tight on my calves and there is a bit of space at the top. A bit of a rubbish pic to show you!

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 19/01/2015 14:51

Boo WickedWench Sad thanks so much for asking. I do have distant relatives in Norway and Sweden, maybe I should get in touch... Wink

Not keen on the Duckfeet ones, they're a bit odd.

I don't like those, sorry polyhymnia - I think the slightly pixie boot shape is a bit cheap looking, it's common on cheaper boots at the moment. And for the price you could have real sheepskin lining. I'm slightly evangelical about how cosy it is.

I was in Russell and Bromley this morning admiring some beautiful lowish heeled ankle boots in taupe, they were leather at the bottom and really delicate beautiful lamb skin at the top, fully lined in real lamb skin. Utterly stunning, not on the website as for some stupid reason they don't put their sale stuff online. I think they were something like £350 reduced to £195.

Another woman was admiring them too and I said 'oh they're lovely aren't they, as cosy as UGGs but more stylish' and she went into a massive rant about how trashy and awful UGGs are... trailing off when she saw my grey sparkly ones. I left, I was so embarrassed for her Grin

Thanks, both - will look into my local R and B this very afternoon to follow up.

polyhymnia · 19/01/2015 15:08

And into my local UGG - though if they only have the Gershwins full price will buy them online instead.
