Party dresses for the (ahem) well rounded teenager?

DD is on the pleasantly plump side at 13, and embarrassed about it. Long slim legs, but a square, solid set of shoulders, 5 ft 7 in height, 36-38 bust and quite a round tummy. She finds clothes shopping excruciating as she doesn't want adult clothes ('bo-o-o-ring') but doesn't fit the average teenage ones. I've tried pointing her at things that are quite loose from the shoulders but she complains she looks pregnant or the size of a house.

Any ideas for places that would be worth trying for some party and casual wear?

(She is definitely NOT preggers BTW.)

She genuinely is, yes. 36 measured under the bust, around the rib cage; not much more that that on top of it. She is clearly the girl M&S think they design bras for.

River Island seem to have a good range and looking at their web site the Teenage wear (what I understand to be fashionable ) is mirrored in the adult fashion so she will find similar in her size.

Peplum tops/dresses seem to be popular and would hide her tum if she is conscious about it. Skater dresses may also have the same affect.

Dorothy perkins? They are quite fashionable (I hope!) and come in larger sizes and taller options.
Or newlook?

glamorous do a lot of loose shirt dresses that could be worn over thick tights or leggings. add a nice statement necklace and i think would be teenage friendly and not highlight any bits she feels uncomfortable about.

bank also do lots of lovely patterned leggings that could again be worn with a loose chiffon type shirt or any nice dressy top really and maybe dressed up with a biker jacket or something.

I had to google peplum. I am now educated. Not that I personally need any extra sticky-out bits just there, but I can see it might be good on her shape.
I don't think we have a Dotty P near here but there might be a River island. She really needs to try things on -- we've had enough years of unwrapping disappointing things that don't quite fit!

She needs a skater or 'fit and flare' style with a defined waist and fuller skirt.

I suspect she'd love the idea of cosmic unicorns -- she's still quite 'little' at heart! Thanks for all the amazing suggestions.
