Am I asking too much to find a non-frumpy breastfeeding friendly dress for a winter wedding?

I'm going to a wedding at New Year with my one year old DS who still likes to feed very regularly thoughout the day and night, especially in new overwhelming places, like at a wedding, say...

The dress code is "winter elegance" and my budget is up to £100. I'm blonde, pale and petite (5'3). I'm a size 8, pear or maybe hourglass shaped these days with a slim waist. I was thinking of something satin-y, quite fitted, jewel coloured and maybe long? It doesn't have to be a nursing dress, but I need to be able to open it myself easily or lift bits up/down to pop out a boob without entirely stripping. And not white.

I'd like people to think wow she looks great rather than hmm I wonder if she is pregnant again / hasn't she let herself go. I am really uninspired by the stretch Jersey maternity offerings after a trawl of the Internet for nursing dresses.

Have you considered bottle feeding. It is very easy and will free up your fashion choices

I would avoid satin as it makes too easily with sticky little hands . Also not stretchy at all and very unforgiving of any extra kilos. Not that I'm suggesting you have any

How do you feel anout embellishments such as beads or sequins? Or lace ?

I agree about jewel colours, I'd go for blues, purples and reds rather than the ubiquitous black

Have you considered top and skirt (with obligatory vest top underneath) or does it have to be a dress?

Thanks Ronald, I may bring an emergency bottle but it's such a faff for me to pump, find somewhere to store it etc and I'm just too lazy. Also with us I t have the same instant magic of keeping him quiet during the service or soothing him when he whacks his head on the dance floor or sending him to sleep when he is overtired. In fact he would probably protest loudly.

Yes I'm not averse to some sparkles / lace.

And I hadn't thought about a skirt and top. If it were still dressy that might work well and perhaps be able to wear in different combinations in the future. Thanks.
