who i have never met! She is mid twenties. Its so hard..My ds is coming over from Denmark and he is bringing his gf over too. This means i will need to get her something. Suggestions please for a virtual stranger. Only seen her in photos and just cant say what she likes!!! Nothing too expensive - its just a little gift. Maybe around £20 or so pounds.

My nieces are really into these big scares ( there are others on the site) so they are tartan and 'on trend'. I'd put some shortbread with it to - I think she will be really touched.

I'm in the same boat actually. New girlfriend for son. Not sure how serious they are so I won't buy T towels for the bottom drawer yet.

I had never really come across hot water bottles until I moved to the UK. In Denmark, they just don't seem to be as popular as they are here. Also, the weather in DK is more or less as it is here in the UK.
I'd see a hot water bottle as a fun present - not something I'd personally use much.

I'd personally love getting a proper pie dish and a pie bird - I see that as being very British and I've never really seen those things much in DK. Add a family recipe if you feel like it :)

A cookbook with good British recipes or curry recipes (it's more or less impossible to get a curry as you know them in Denmark).

Something from a brand that isn't as easy to find in DK would be nice too - Molton Brown products, Sleek (if into makeup), tea from Harrods/Fortnum & Mason, hand cream or shower gel (most people in DK have showers, not baths) from Penhaligon's or a nice scarf. I personally wouldn't mind cheap jewellery of some kind.

Scarf and gloves. Can't go wrong. Or just some smarter leather gloves or fancier scarf.

Not too personal, most woman use them. (Also fabulously, Burgundy coloured stuff is everywhere, it's a colour that suits a wide range of woman and goes with a surprisingly large range of other colours so you don't have the scarf clashing with her coat issue- unless she has an orange coat)

I would definitely not get a hot water bottle - bit grandma-ish I would think. How about cashmere socks - luxury that most people find difficult to justify buying for themselves and perfect for the Danish climate!

Clinique have a purse with mini superbalms in that can be clipped to a key ring I think. Around the 20 pound park too
