Please help me be stylish. Please. I have a dress and don't know what other stuff to wear with it.

I have my work Christmas do in 2 weeks, I have this dress.
It looks nice on, and the the party isn't black tie or formal, so the dress itself should be ok, what shoes do I wear with it ? Will tights go ?
For some reason I thought a dainty pair of suede ankle boots might look nice with it, but it's been so long that I have done any of this dressing up shizzle, especially in the winter, I have forgotten what to do.

I can't wear earrings, beeny, they make my ears swell up.

I was thinking about a biggish chunky bracelet of some sort.

What about my legs, do you think tights will look shit ? What sort of shoes ?

I wouldn't wear a chunky bracelet. Some gold bangles maybe. Paint your nails red, that'll be a nice contrast.
Black tights and black ankle boots with a heel should look fine.
What's your colouring? (e.g brown hair green eyes etc)

Link to the boots? I think black opaques and ankle boots would be nice with it, but the boots would need a heel.

I have brown hair and brown eyes.
I haven't seen any boots yet, just been mulling ideas around. I am glad you think it will "go" with tights, my legs are covered in bruises and look like twiglets.

Right, I've not read the other posts. Here's what I think:
the neckline is embellished so nothing around the neck. Small earrings so as not to compete with the neckline (gold), maybe a nice slim plaited gold bracelet. I'd put a matt gold skinny belt on it (to disguise the ruching on the waist). I would only put tights (maybe the same colour but a much darker shade) if I were putting something on my arms (a little cream (that creamy gold shade if you can get it), black or dark teal short fur jacket with three quarter sleeves. Depending on whether you go bare-legged or not (you can get really nice almost invisible nude tights, not like the ones Kate M wears!) I would wear a strappy gold heel or pointed gold stiletto, or black ankle boots with a heel, black suede would be nice :)

*much darker shade being a darker shade of the dress, that is. I have these and they are luverly :)

Or, yes, several slim gold bangles would look nice. I was trying to channel a kind of Greek goddess look :)

As you have brown hair and brown eyes I would try lovely golds and metallic emeralds for eye makeup; emerald eyeshadow and eyeliner looks amazing with brown eyes, and a berry lip with subtle colour on the cheeks :)
I'd also wear your hair up.

Don't know if it changes things but the tights are darker and opaque, not see-through like on that leg model. Also, I'd only pair the tights with a black suede ankle boots, not gold heels or anything. I know it's a matter of personal choice but I've been asked by several people where I've bought these tights (hopefully not so they can avoid them at all costs!)

I do like the teal tights but I am not too sure if I could carry them off, I have lots of gold and metallic greens any way, if I wear make up it's usually the colour I go for.
