Are high waisted skinny jeans in?

I just bought a pair and they are really comfortable but not that flattering on the belly and a bit 80s.

I also read on here that skinnies have had their day? But what else is there?!

wear what you like, i don't think skinnies are out, they're just another cut of jeans, you wear what you want.

I wear various cuts of jeans to create different looks and don't really think of any of them as being in or out of fashion.
I like high waisted jeans - better than a muffin top!

Yes you're right about no muffin top. No builder's bum when you sit down either.

I just bought some "mid rise" skinnie jeans today that feel relatively high waisted. What I do like is how stretchy and comfortable they are...no feeling of having the circulation cut off behind your knees.

I think they are "in". The shops are full of them and lots of women are wearing them. One of the few jeans styles I feel suits me, fortunately. I have some Top Shop Joni ones which are good.

I've seen a few teenagers/young women wearing them this week: stone washed, so high they're almost up to your boobs and sit-in-the-bath-then-fasten-with-a-coathanger-tight. I've not made my mind up about them yet. I know it takes the eye a while to adjust but that uber-high waist makes your arse look massiveormous.

Bloody hope so, because the ones from Jack Wills are a bargain, I can tuck In my mummy-tummy and show off my still (almost) slim legs, and I love them.

I am still reeling from the sight of massively high-waisted denim shorts (it's nearly summer here) - they just look sooo dated to me, but accept that to the young things, they are the biz.

The danger with a high waist is that you create that sort of tent effect if you have a bit of a tum, between tum and thigh. Difficult to explain, but it's an instant frump creator.

Skinnies have been around too long to be a passing trend.

Those are the ones, flo! Not sure it's the high waist that makes the bum look big or the stonewashed, almost white colour.

I avoid the pale colours and stick to mid-blue to black. I find they suit my figure better than lower rise ones that slide down and give me a saggy arse look!
