Brazilian Blow Dry - advice/watch outs/opinions needed

I keep on seeing offers for Brazillian Blowdrys on Groupon and am suitably seduced (lots of hair that takes a-g-e-s to dry).

Will it make my hair quicker to dry?

How long do I need to leave it before washing?

Has anyone had one and felt a bit 'meh' about it?

What should I think about before having it done?

had one about 5 yrs ago, pre DD when I could happily blow that amount of money on hair and loved it. I have v v thick hair, which takes an eternity to dry, and drying time was cut down by at least 50%
plus it was much easier to dry it straight without using straighteners.

you have to leave it 3 days before washing, which was fine.

I remember going on holiday to a friends a few weeks after I had it done, couldn't pack my ghds and dryer as only taking carry on baggage, went for a shower in the morning, waited 20/30 mins while having breakfast and chatting to mates, and then dried my hair nice and smooth and straight in 10 mins, which is almost miraculous.

be prepared to spend about 4 hours getting it done but I absolutely luvved it

Loved the condition of it but it was too straight for me. So now I semi straighten before waving. Obvs have too much time on my hands.

I love mine. However it doesn't last as long as they tell you it will, but for those 4 weeks, its bliss not waking up to Crystaltips hair.

I use the Amazon keratin box.
It's really good
Read the reviews.

I just slap it on now, dry then straighten.
Good results for about 8 weeks.

Oh, and I have quite sensitive skin but I'm fine with this.
Just remember to keep window open as product SMELLS!

There is an old thread on this product on here.
Will try to find

Good luck!

Can't paste
However quick search brings up Amazon keratin
Good luck!

Thanks all

Re the Amazon one - will my ghds be hot enough? They are about 3 years old

Ghds work well for me!

I had one and didn't like it. I missed the volume and there was a greasy film left on my hair. I also wanted formaldehyde free which the hairdresser assured me it was however what she didn't tell me was there are other chemicals which are very similar and react the same way.
