Natural remedies that work for spotty skin

Ok, so the jist of it is that I have spotty skin. I've tried Differin cream, Isotrex gel, Benzoyl Peroxide and many other spot treatments. None of them have worked and am at my wits end.

Can anyone suggest a natural remedy for spots that I could try? I'm grateful for any suggestions

I use Witch gel from Boots on my most inflamed spots. It's the only thing I've found that calms them down (I put on a big blob at night time).

It's just the gel that works for me though, the witch hazel liquid dabbed on with cotton wool does not work the same. So there must be something in the gel. It works for my hubby too.

Have you been to docs? Is it hormone related? Could you need to drink more water? (I found this helped and I hate drinking water :) )

The only thing that ever worked for me was Dianette contraceptive pill, oral antibiotics or Zineryt topical antibiotic lotion.
I had spots from being a young teenager until I was 38 when I had my first child, then they improved. Still get occasional ones now at 48 but not too bad.

Agnus castus worked for me. Before I discovered it I used benzoyl peroxide, which helped a little.

Dianette pill worked nicely when I was younger but had other side effects so I stopped taking it.

DS16 uses Tea-Tree facial wipes from Boots which work well.

Everyone responds to something different (I like Sudocreme), so you may have to try many things.

I maintain a healthy and fair skin with a routine, Cleanse, tone and moisturize morning and evening. I don't use cosmetics with alcohol and opt for oil-free water-based products. You may also try oil-control cleanser (salicylic acid) to remove excess oil from the surface. Also, exfoliate every week. If salicylic acid is not enough, Benzoyl peroxide is also an effective treatment for spots.

I also like Sudocreme

I know it's basic but it so works: 3l after a day & cut out sugar. Spots on my back have disappeared and my teenage sons friends have seen how great his skin is because he drinks so much water & have followed suit, their skin has improved no end.

And the less I do to my skin, the better. All the faffing is no good for me, basic, basic, basic, aqueous cream and a bit of moisturiser. Lovely clear skin at 43.

Sorry for not getting back earlier, have been revising and what not for my Psychology course. Thanks for all your replies, they're much appreciated

I have been to the Drs and they prescribed me the Differin and Isotrex gel. I've tried Zineryt topical solution as well. I eat healthy foods (plenty of veg/fruit/nuts and steamed meats such as chicken/fish etc), drink plenty of water at least 2l a day. Writing this all out on here makes me think that it's possibly hormonal.

I'm on the pill for back pain as it was getting incredibly painful around my cycle. Funny enough my skin didn't change with taking the pill and I only started getting spots in my early 20's, so teenage acne has possibly come late .

I would just like to have reasonable skin to be able to wear make up without my skin looking like a flakey mess. I've tried many, many moisturisers from high end to cheap and cheerful to antibacterial. None of them seem to work for longer than about 2 weeks before my skin goes back to being spotty.

Would a solution of bicarb in water be of any benefit? Haas anyone tried it, and has it helped you?

Tea tree oil! Dab it on the spot, dries it out immediately.

Agnus castus is definitely a must to try!

This has really helped my skin

I use witch hazel as a toner. But it from wilkos as cheaper than boots. I also is use Neal yards frankincense oil as a moisturiser. Skin isn't amazing but it's a lot better than it use to be
