It's all pretty basic to be honest as I am skint

I have quite oily skin but can get a bit flaky round the nose. Ditched all my cleansers a while back and started using coconut oil to double cleanse at night and I take it all off with a muslin cloth (boots or asda baby range, not expensive ones. I also cleanse this way in the morning and then slap on just plain old Olay after my sun screen (Soap & Glory). At night I use Superdrug's Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel maybe twice a week and bung a wee bit of rosehip oil around my eyes.

Make up wise I've ditched the primer and have started using a tip I saw on Goss Makeup Artists youtube channel. After letting your moisturiser sink in he recommends applying a light dusting of loose powder over your skin BEFORE you apply your foundation. Then I apply the foundation (Max Factor Facefinity) and rest of my make up as normal. If you're really oily you can also put on a wee bit of powder on the oily areas. During the day I've been trying to resist the urge to powder constantly at the first sign of shiny skin and have been blotting instead (picked up Kleenex blotting sheets in Home Bargains for about 60p). This has definitely improved the look of my make up during the day and stopped the cakey look you can get when you apply powder over oily skin.

Your skin care regime sounds great, where do you buy the coconut oil from? I have the same skin type as you including the flaky nose! So I'd be interested in trying out your regime as my skin is suffering and it's really getting me down.

Alfie - I just buy coconut oil off the shelf in Tesco in the World Foods aisle. I think you can get fancy organic stuff from Holland and Barret but its the best part of a tenner. I got mine in Tesco for about £1.60.

Yes, just neat rosehip oil. Sometimes a I just slap a bit of the coconut oil all over my face too....I must smell lovely in bed (not)....

Coconut oil is great- lovely for hair too.

When I was a bit flush I bought the Triology rosehip oil but it's on the pricey side. I'm currently using up a bottle that I got whilst on holiday in Lanzarote, think it was only about 5 euros. There's loads of different suppliers on Amazon. I've also used Rio Rosa Mosqueta Rosehip oil in the past and it's been good.

Yes, by double cleansing I mean I just do it twice, once to get all the makeup and grime off and then another time to really work the coconut oil into my skin and get rid of any wee flaky bits. The coconut oil is the hard white stuff in the jar. With regards to the stuff Superdrug sell, it's labelled as coconut oil but I'm sure when I checked the ingredients there was other stuff in there too so you might want to check that before buying. The stuff I use is 100% coconut, nothing added. I've also read that it's great to put on your hair before you bleach it (just whack the bleach on top of it !) as it stops the bleach from doing so much damage so that's next on my list.
