Shoes that will go with everything

Wise style queens can you help me find a pair of shoes for work I can wear all winter long that will go with everything? I mostly wear wide/straight leg trousers for work. Am a short-arse so need a bit of a heel. Prepared to pay a bit (?50 ono) for the right shoe. Would like a trendy style.

Have you tried Jones Bootmaker, they have mid-heeled courts, quite groovy, not overly fashionable, but quite good shapes and colours. fine with smart trousers or with tights and skirts.

I'm reading this avidly as I need to get some work shoes too. I got some great Clarks ones in the summer - they're called Claytonia or something like that - mid heel, round toes, looked a bit victorian - I'll try and find them on the website.

Oh bum I can't get the Clarks site to load. It's so rubbish.
