Got the party dress now need help

I've bought a dress for partner's black tie christmas do. It finishes just above knee, fitted with v neck, black and sleeveless. The do is in centre of London so will be walking from train to do. So question is what do I wear on my legs? Fashion seems to be nothing but I am late 40s and although have ok legs I'm not sure for black tie. Is it tights with black shoes as not sure sandles with tights is right?

I would like some glitzy strappy sandles but dialema about legs exists!! Thank you in advance.

Would I go for nude colour rather than black?

Yeah, nude micronets and closed shoes, I'd say. A bit more elegant than sandals for this time of year with backless, sleeveless and 'short'.

No it's not backless or that short just touching the knees. But yes I agree closed in and nude perhaps.
