Help! Posh frock needed (or glitzy trouser suit)

I'm going to an awards ceremony in London in about 5 weeks. It's black tie and v posh. I need something to wear, budget of up to 200 quid.
I should get down to a size 14 by then.
I'm 42, 5ft 2 and a half, dark brown hair, pale skin (freckly, actually), no waist, nice bum, trainee bingo wings. I suit red, dark pink, purple, cream, dark green, turquoise, black. Don't mind long or short but did I mention I have no ankles? I suit column dresses, strangely. Love trouser suits but have no idea whether they are "in" or not. Even reading this back is making my heart sink!
Links/suggestions for places to shop please.

Not revealing at all

Well actually I tried the 14 (although I am a 12) and I am going to get teh dress on Tuesday from another store. Even in teh 14 it looked fab (if a little loose)

I work in 2 offices so travel around which I like (not stuck behind desk) Chatting to Accountants all day I doubt they are used to someone like me!!

All in all good move

But I still need a green BIG handbag

No I'll find something before then.

crunchie and jackie - thanks for all your help - you should both be fashion gurus!!

Not keen on the Wallis dress - dunno something about the tie at the front? Would hide the beer (I wish) belly though . I did pop into Wallis the other day and they had ONLY ONE evening dress!?! and it was horrible....

Have stalked out all the local Coast suppliers and am off to investigate next weekend. Bet they only have about one cardi in though as they are all concessions and in tiny stores! Lincoln isn't exactly a metropolis for shopping (not this type anyway)!.

Well I got the wallis dress today. Looks fab, even machine washable!! It has a tiny mark on it too, so she knocked another 10% off making it £31.50, the cheapest black tie dress I have ever bought
