Question to those of you with the GREY North Face Arctic Parka

What sort of a grey is it? Blueish? Mauveish? Pinkish? Plain grey? Light/dark?
On the google image search it comes up as all sorts of different greys. Would any of you be so kind as to choose a picture from the google search which best matches the grey colour? Thanks! :-)

Yes. I want to know that too.

ClaraDeLaNoche · 07/11/2014 12:46

Yes tell me as well!! I don't want it light, I want it dark. Black is too harsh but slightly off black/v dark gray would be perfect.

plasticbanana · 07/11/2014 12:57

Yes Clara I would like that too, or even more, a dark slatey bluey grey. :-)

This is a fab price www.allweathers.co.uk/the-north-face-womens-arctic-parka-sale-aw13-22872-p.asp

It's AW13. I can live with that.

GoogleyEyes · 07/11/2014 13:58

I would say lighter than a charcoal grey but dark enough not to show dirt much. On my phone, the colour in the link above is true to life.

Oly4 · 07/11/2014 13:59

Completely useless probably, but I have the navy and it's gorgeous!
V cheap from here

Oly4 · 07/11/2014 14:02

They've upped the bloody price, I paid £219 in August

Thank you Googly.

Pushing my luck here - sizing? I'm a 12 on top but broad shoulders. Ta x

GoogleyEyes · 07/11/2014 14:26

Don't know - the small is fine on me with room for a thick jumper comfortably, but I'm small backed and shouldered and size 10, so I'm not sure that helps.

I got mine from a northfCw shop in the summer at an outlet village... For. £65 Grinmight be worth calling about?

ClaudiaNaughton · 08/11/2014 05:29

Thanks Thunderbolt and others for information. Just ordered grey from ld.
Tempted by blue also but decision made.

NoelleHawthorne · 08/11/2014 07:27

In a busty 12. I have a medium. It's a close fit but you want it like that. I don't find it as tropically hot as everyone else

andadietcoke · 08/11/2014 07:48

I am very wide of hip and have a large. Normally a 14. I think the medium would be fine for you.

MrsFreddieThreepwood · 08/11/2014 07:58

Not helpful but I have the brown version, third winter and really worth it's weight in gold, you will be super cosy

NoelleHawthorne · 08/11/2014 08:49

My only misgivings are :

  1. All that bulk
  2. It looks flaredy at the bottom
NoelleHawthorne · 08/11/2014 08:51

Oops. Wrong thread

ClaudiaNaughton · 11/11/2014 15:19

Mine has just arrived. It is v dark grey. The reduced ones I think have slight differences to this year's model. The hood is fixed, tho not the fur, and it does not have the little split at back on hem. Really pleased with it. Thanks for advice from everyone. S = 10. M=12 L =14 XL =16

Floellabenjamin · 11/11/2014 20:41

Sorry to hijack- can I ask about the hood?
Is it big enough to cover my fringe?
I get major frizz issues and am after a roomy hood?
Thanks

WannaSplitAPineapple · 11/11/2014 21:42

Mine is 2 years old now and unless they've changed the hood it should be big enough to cover your fringe especially if you pull the fur forward. The hood is really good and actually stays up even with the coat unzipped.
I want the blue now but can't justify another one.

ClaudiaNaughton · 14/11/2014 13:44

Flo just tested the hood. It is huge.

Floellabenjamin · 14/11/2014 16:08

Thanks will let DH know it's on my bday wish list!
