Hollywood Glamour party dress

Going to a Hollywood glamour Xmas party and haven't a clue what to wear. I would love some suggestions! I'm 5'6, size 14 and I never wear dresses above the knee. Please help me out!

Parts of your body you like showing off/prefer to conceal?

Colours you like?

Budget under £75; thighs are the only part i need/want to conceal; I usually like bright jewel tones or navy/black! Pale colours + mini dresses do nothing for me!

I helped a friend chose a dress for a Hollywood glamour party. She went retro Hollywood starlet. She felt very out of place when she got there. Everyone else was dressed for a current Oscars ceremony ie all out modern glam.

Its worth finding out what the host means by Hollywood glamour.

Prefer plain, Bianca and have just checked, burnishedsilver and its modern Hollywood so thanks for that tip!
