Leggings/Footless Tights- nice or nasty?

As a huge fan of skinny jeans and long top - have ordered a pair of black leggings. Can they really be flattering on anyone under the age of 18 and a normal mum rather than supermodel/hollywood starlet?

I think it depends on whether you are old enough to have worn them last time they were fashionable.

Having said that, I also totally agreed with everything Maureen Lipman said when she put the wretched things into Room 101. Maybe they look okay, but you could look so much better in something else, IYSWIM.

And am not a fan of long top/skinny legs unless your top half is very slim/flat - I spent most of the 1980's looking like a lollipop.

Eeeuuggh!!! They just remind me of terrible 80's naffness. Totally agree with nearlythree about looking like a lollipop. Only for the stick thin imo.

I've just ventured back into leggings and I am reconverted!!
They look great under my short skirt.

Go for it Addictedtoshopping! I've seen them everywhere (Sunday Times Style section and lots of magazines) and think they look fantastic.

thanks for that - will go for it (i think) even tho dh thinks they are revolting. He also hates the flat black ballet pumps that i was going to wear them with....should i go for a black platform ankle boot????
