What to wear (and where to buy it) after work and around the house

After a day at work wearing a formal dress, heels etc I need to change when I come home, not least because at the moment I'm still bf DS and I can't feed him in a work dress.

What do you wear when you change after work? I don't feel like getting into jeans, I want something more comfortable. I want to say lounge wear but I'm not 70 and what I can find online is all PJs and onesies, which I don't want. I also don't want to spend White Company money on this.

my jammies the minute i get home, it's heavenly!

Usually leggings or joggies, vest & hoody. Usually all from H&M.

Track suit bottoms and hoody. Repulsively ugly but oh so comfy. Might ask for a onesie for Xmas though.

PJs and dressing gown if it's cold. Unless I'm going out again I can't be bothered to get dressed again.

I don't like pjs for this time of an evening either so I tend to wear slouchy trousers (jersey type) in navy or black, vest and boyfriend cardigan

They would be acceptable for going to the local shop in and just as comfy as pjs

Yoga pants, secret support camisole and fitted goody when I used to flat share and still wanted a sense of being able to run to the shop if I needed to.

A stretchy bra thingy, PJs and a jumper. I then take it off before I go to bed.

Pj bottoms (Gap or The White Company), jersey Cami with built in bra (Gap), a lovely merino wool hoody (The White Company) or long sleeved t-shirt (Gap) and cotton socks (Sweaty Betty). I am warm, comfy and cosy - heaven. I would really recommend The White Company in the sale or outlet stores - their loungewear is just gorgeous and lasts and lasts.

Yoga pants, vest top, hoody, woolly socks. Mostly GAP or Next, but I knitted the socks myself.

cuffed joggers, long sleeve top, hoody, boot slipper things. Apron over all this for as I tend to get splattered cooking or have mucky little sticky fingers on me.

Changes with season - flip flops in spring/summer, and a vest top.

Boden pull-ons and cami top, with a hoody if cold. Bliss!

PJs, dressing gown and thick socks in winter when I won't be going out. I love the feeling of getting out of work clothes and into something comfy.

Thanks everyone. I don't like PJs other than bedtime (and they're generally too thin for my cold house) but some good ideas here.

Next Jogging Bottoms are warm and not too bulky, with their long sleeve t-shirts

At this time of year a pair of fleecy PJ's - Primark are fine but Next are a bit more stylish.

Pinterest is a great source of inspiration for this kind of look. It needs to look luxe to avoid the "doing my cleaning" look. It can be done on a budget but you need to make sure you go for quality rather than just cheap. TK Maxx has great merino & cashmere knits for less than you pay for high street acrylic versions. Gap & H&M are great sources for cosy joggers.

Oversized knits layered over long sleeve tees or vests (although you said your house is cold so the former would be a better option); plaid shirts layered over long sleeve tees; thick leggings (try the Active Wear section in TK Maxx rather than regular leggings); cuffed joggers (most yoga/harem trousers will be too thin for real warmth in a cold house) but the kind that are cut slightly narrower on the calf than the traditional slouchy joggers; scarves, wrist warmers, slouchy socks and sheepskin slippers. Warm as toast.

Forgot to add: Matalan are great for long sleeve tees and vests. Great length (even for a long body) and wash really well without losing shape. Around £6.

I wear dresses for work but as soon as I get home I rip my tights off - ah bliss!

The dresses I wear for work are usually similar to those I'd wear outside only I'll wear them with heels and a blazer in work and with boots and a cardigan outside - is that an option - changing the dresses themselves or do they have to be formal?

I've got a long tube skirt that I wear with a tshirt around the house. I also have leggings/jeggings with tunic tops and cardigans.

I enver wear pjs unless I've had a bath or I've come home soaking wet or I know I'll be going to bed within an hour. I don't know why.

Yoga pants, as they look much better than tracksuit bottoms. A nice black/dark pair could almost pass for trousers. Then a long sleeve/short sleeve (season dependent) fitted tshirt with a fitted hoodie or chunky cardigan. Leggings and a long loose top would work too.

Happy to answer the door/nip to the shops in it. Think the main thing is not to go too baggy as you feel slobby then.

Where is the best place to buy good yoga pants that everyone is recommending??
