Please help me! Need to add some bits to my wardrobe. Everyday casual wear really! What is considered stylish at the moment ?? So far I've got skinny jeans in blue and black, a zara navy tweed/wool blazer, black chelsea boots, tan brogue shoe boots, a couple of neutral slouchy wool jumpers, a black beaded shell top for an occasional night out, black cigarette trousers, a navy blue Mac, checked flannel shirt, a sort of flecked wool curved jumper, lots of stretchy long sleeved tops, a couple of stretchy skater style dresses. I'm on the lookout for a tartan type scarf and a denim shirt. Late thirties, size 8-10.

I've looked on Pinterest but am a bit overwhelmed Grin

Try mango for the denim shirt.

Loads of tartan scarves around at the moment. I got one today from New Look. Have a look on the website.

tartan scarf oversize from ASOS

chelsea boots ( flat)
oversized coat

frankietwospots · 01/11/2014 22:38

New Look or Gap foe denim shirts. There is a lovely plaid/tartan scarf in Sainsburys that is a dead ringer for the Zara one which sold out last year.

Pretty sure seen a tartan scarf in River Island recently. As for the denim shirt as already mentioned mango or topshop are probably a good shout.

bettykt · 02/11/2014 11:38

Got my tartan scarf from Banana Republic. Quite reasonable and 100% wool too.

NoelleHawthorne · 02/11/2014 11:49

Is it HUGE tho. I need huge. I got a fab neon pink scarf from there last year. Love it

noddyholder · 02/11/2014 11:51

I got an amazing oversized coat from primark It really is lovely and as its a fashion thing £20 seemed enough. It comes in black green pink or check. has concealed poppers so no visible buttons and very sleek looking. It prob won't last but looks really nice for this year

NoelleHawthorne · 02/11/2014 13:24

that is what I want

noddyholder · 02/11/2014 13:47

First one I have the black tempted by the green too Amazing for teh price

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/11/2014 13:57

There are lots of lovely tartan scarves around. I wanted one back in the summer when it was too warm, but now every man and his dog wearing them so am not going to bother.

Lots of denim shirts everywhere too - Gap, Topshop, H&M etc.

noddyholder · 02/11/2014 14:00

Yes I like too but have seen so many! Denim shirts look terrible on me although I like on everyone else.

NoelleHawthorne · 02/11/2014 14:15

THERE ARENT ANY

noddyholder · 02/11/2014 14:29

what the coats? Loads here

NoelleHawthorne · 02/11/2014 14:51

no the denim shirt

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/11/2014 15:36

I don't mind a fairly fitted denim shirt, worn open over a cami or sundress, but I can't wear them buttoned up. I am too norky and too pale for them.

Topshop They have a couple of others too.

noddyholder · 02/11/2014 15:44

I think they look boxy on me I am not the right shape for them.

NoelleHawthorne · 02/11/2014 16:08

i cnt do open
Look like Linda Lusardi

noddyholder · 02/11/2014 16:46

I can't do either but shirts in general look bad on me

NoelleHawthorne · 02/11/2014 17:11

i wonder if that is less to do wiht your shape and more your style. I suit very plain shapes, no frills etc but think you are a bit more drapey than me

noddyholder · 02/11/2014 17:22

I am not sure I don't wear those drapey tops at all the t shirt ones. I wear blouse types more silky and fluid I feel like a box in a shirt. Love on others though. Have thin silk for under jumpers but anything stiff is a no.
