Help me make a shoes and tights decision, O Wise Mumsnetters!

Family wedding in a couple of weeks. Have finally emerged from Small Child Era, lost a bit of weight and actually want to make a bit of an effort!

So, I have a lovely yellow dress (Boden, Bryony - can't seem to make links work on iPad), and was planning to wear black opaques and black shoes.

Clarks Chorus Thrill in black tick all my boxes, but I'm a bit wound up that they're not reduced in the sale - the navy and the mushroom ones are half price. Given that I pushed the boat out a bit price wise for the right dress, it would be nice to get the shoes a bit cheaper!

Would the shoes in navy with navy tights work? If anything I prefer the mushroom but really not sure what tights would work.

The reality is I might only wear these shoes once, so if I can get away with cheaper....

Are these the mushroom shoes? They'd work better than the navy, IMHO. Nude tights / nude micronets would be jsut the ticket.

I'm no S&B guru, but I also think the mushroom shoes would be far better with the yellow dress than the black.

I struggle a bit with nude tights as feeling a bit too grown up.... at 39 this shouldn't really be a problem for me should it?

But I've never come across micronets before, will investigate as I do really like the mushroom coloured shoes. I think you've solved it.

I think navy or mushroom would be better than black, but I prefer navy and mustard.

Another vote for mushroom shoes....if you're not sure about nude tights, how about experimenting with a deep burgundy or navy tight? Not everyone's taste I appreciate but I'm a fan of dark opaque tights with paler coloured shoes.

I have a pair of Chorus Thrills, in a kind of greigey colour. Similar to the mushroom ones but the trim isn't silver. They're fab, really comfy.

Navy and mustard is a brilliant combination and seems to be very in at the moment! I would go with navy shoes and tights. Much more interesting. Also I find navy shoes seem to go with a lot of stuff so you may find it a good investment!
