Jeans like Topshop Joni - any suggestions?

I've got a pair of Joni jeans from Topshop (high waisted skinny) in black. I normally find jeans really difficult to buy as I'm short with a small waist, big hips and bum, but the Joni ones fit perfectly. Problem is they've faded very quickly and started to look tatty. I want to replace them with some which will last longer, does anyone have any suggestions of black jeans with a similar fit?

American Apparel Easy Jeans are very similar in cut to Joni ones. Unfortunately they are (a) more expensive, and (b) I've no idea if they last better.

Tried re dying your existing pair?

I hadn't thought to look at American Apparel, thanks. Too scared about ruining my washing machine to attempt dying them I think!

Let me invite you to THE DARK SIDE.

DYEING.

You'll never be able to stop. There's a whole thread on it I'll find

I love Joni jeans too. Got them in indigo was planning to go back and get them in burgundy. Do they really not last? My previous topshop jeans did really well Hmm

I can recommend gap legging jeans. They aren't as high waisted so I need a belt but they are a bit thicker and very comfy.

My friend swears by Dorothy Perkins legging jeans. Don't know if they'd be as high waisted as Joni jeans but worth a try?

Might be tempted to go looking for American apparel jeans now!

Oh just read re machine. I did mine acc to that thread and I still have white sheets.

MilkThistle187 · 23/10/2014 10:43

I've dyed lots in my machine and it's perfectly fine. Just follow the instructions and you won't have any problems

BettyMoody · 23/10/2014 10:43

its really addictive.

I hadn't realised machine dying was such a thing, thanks for the link Betty! Just had memories of a friend turning her bath grey with cold water dye back in the day - now kicking myself as I chucked out some lovely black jeans a while back because they were so faded.

Zen - I've had Jamie jeans from Topshop before which have lasted years, but the Joni's are about 6 months old and they've faded badly plus have started to sag on the bum Blush Maybe I'm expecting too much as they are thinner fabric but was hoping they'd last a bit longer than that. Hadn't thought of Dorothy Perkins so will try there. Do the Gap ones come in different lengths?

Think what I really want is a thicker denim but still high waisted and skinny if that's possible?!

I have 2 pairs of joni's and love them. One pair is a brightish blue which I've had over a year and they are still as blue as when I got them. The other are a really dark blue but I've only washed them a handful of times, they haven't faded at all though.
Maybe the pair you have r from a dodgy batch, it might be worth your while contacting topshop and complaining.

Nells77 · 23/10/2014 13:24

zen I am holding you fully responsible that I now have a pair of aubergine joni's in my TS shopping bag along with the parka that I am desperately trying not to buy Grin
