Office shoes - where do you buy comfy yet lovely ones?

I need to look smart in the office but do a lot of walking about and standing so need comfy shoes. The problem is, I hate flats. I like heels or wedges. To make it trickier, I can't seem to keep shoes on my feet unless the have some sort of over-foot strap or ankle strap. Court shoes just don't stay on.

Any recommendations?

I like Hotter, though some Styleandbeauty gurus will frown....

Thanks, will go and have a look.

Hotter are not quite my thing.

I've recommended them before, but I love the Chorus Thrill from Clarks. I'm the same as you, in that I have to have a strap across the front of my foot. I think it's because I have narrow heels. The Chorus Thrill is really comfortable, had a platform in the front, and still looks good after almost daily wear for several months. Two of my colleagues wear them as well.

I have two pairs of these, one in suede and one in crocodile skin. They are unbelievably comfortable, and I get tons of compliments. They are expensive but the suede ones have been going strong for two years. They will also solve your 'staying on' issues!

They look nice, thanks. The taupe ones are reduced to £40 at the moment. Would they look crap with black tights though? I only do 70 denier black tights.

Lotta, they do look quite nice, but are well out of my price range. Thanks though.

I have a few pairs from m&s and also buy from Boden during their clearance. I actually find wearing heals more comfortable a lot of the time than flats.

I have the same problem with court shoes staying on and I also own Lotta's Russell & Bromley boots :) so that's my winter office footwear sorted.

In summer I have a few pairs of heels under my desk. All have either a strap across the top or are elasticated (these, I've never found anything else like them sadly - from Pied a Terre).

The others are from Clarks, M&S and Banana Republic.
