how to style lovely sparkly skirt!

So i have this skirt that i am planning to wear with black tights and wedge ankle boots but i'm a bit stuck as to what kind of top to team it with... I am a size 14 apple so i have good legs (hence the length of the skirt) but no waist, a big post baby belly and huge bazookas (34ff)

I was think a plain black t-shirt with a long necklace or a button-up black cardi - any advice from some stylish people gratefully received :) I am 40 btw (if that makes a difference!)

Thank you

How about a grey t-shirt? I have a gold sparkly skirt and I wear grey t, tights, ankle boots and black leather jacket

doineedhelp · 17/10/2014 08:52

not thought about grey, i tend to always wear black on top to try and minimize my bulk but i will try it and see, thanks. Do you think it needs a necklace as well? I will also be wearing it with a black leather jacket :)

I think it would look more modern if you wear it with something casual on top, so I'd agree with the grey t shirt and with the leather jacket that would be perfect. I think a necklace might make it look too 'dressy' IYKWIM

Also a grey sweatshirt could look great with it

Or a cute fluffy jumper? Short sleeved?

lurkingfromhome · 17/10/2014 09:27

I'd wear that with a grey sweatshirt (not a big chunky one, more of a fine-knit one). You'd be 'bang on trend' with that, as Grazia would say...

doineedhelp · 17/10/2014 09:39

bang on trend? Me? that would be a first!!! Hmmmm, jumpers on top scare me a little but i'll have a go although sorry fox but a fluffy short sleeve jumper brings my inner apple out in a sweat.

Cheers for the good advice everyone

I'd team that with a slash neck top in maybe gunmetal grey or petrol blue and throw a black leather biker over the top!
May we ask where you bought it and, if it's not too cheeky, the cost? I like it ( a lot!) :)

MaryBerrysLostCherry · 17/10/2014 18:46

What Leo said. Love it.

doineedhelp · 17/10/2014 19:19

Of course. .. It is river island and cost just £20, looks much nicer than photo too. From afar it looks beaded but it's just glittery :-) I like the idea of the blue Leo as it has blue dots in the material.
Cheers

Ooh...twenty quid! It looks way more expensive - good find :) Thanks for sharing! Whatever you match with it I'm sure you'll look great!

Btw op, I'm a 36gg, so know the feeling on the big norks. Grey works for me!

Nice fitted but comfy jumper with opaques in a nice autumnal colour
