Is it possible to buy something from the Next website without signing up for a credit account?

And if so can you give me a hint as to where they will be being sneaky at me?

I don't want a credit account.

I especially don't want a catalogue (er, I'm on the internet right now?)

I know where you are coming from... I wanted to buy something using my credit card over the phone from Littlewoods Ireland. I would have to give my date of birth to register first. I declined. None of their business.
The White Company, Pure and other companies I use over the Internet don't require my d.o.b. when I wish to make a purchase.
Littlewoods loss of a customer.

Even if you purchase with a card it still sets up an account. Make a note of the 6 digit code and you can order anything on line in store. It's pre-paid but you have 28 days to return instead of the 8 days for internet and most stuff is available next day xx

I emailed them numerous times about this. They say you can, but I couldn't see an option for it. I had to ask them 3 times to close the account. The trouble is in the terms and conditions you sign up to pay for their catalogue - I can't remember how much it was but it annoyed me being forced to. I think you're better to phone in your order.

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 16/10/2014 21:04

Do it over the phone. You'll then get a customer number you can use online next time and it's not an account.

thenightsky · 16/10/2014 21:09

They gave me a credit account when I ordered one thing. Thing was shite and went back via local shop. I'm stuck with £6 sitting on that account and bloody Next Directories coming through the door.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 16/10/2014 21:54

You must be able to as my account doesn't have credit I just pay as I go. I've had it a few years now so not sure how you would do it now.

ninaprettyballerina · 16/10/2014 21:55

It is possible as I order stuff and enter my card details each time. No account to pay off. Had it for a few years though so can't remember how....but it is possible

hollyisalovelyname · 17/10/2014 07:40

They won't give us Next Directories in Ireland.
I'd love to browse through one.
No- Next say it's because it's priced in sterling ( and we'll see how euro customers are being ripped off Smile).
M&S and Laura Ashley have no problem selling/ giving their catalogues / brochures to us eurozoners.

zinnia · 17/10/2014 09:53

You can definitely opt out of receiving the catalogue, just call customer services. They sent me one by accident last year and I got a grovelling apology afterwards!

Siarie · 17/10/2014 09:58

I know it's possible, but I can't remember how. It's well and truly hidden as DH managed it but I've never been able to do it for one myself.

LordTumble · 17/10/2014 10:50

I order things from Next all the time and just pay on my card, have never have a credit account with them. It was a while ago now but I don't remember it being particularly difficult, I think I just clicked 'no' to the credit option. Perhaps they have changed it now?

My mum has a credit account with them and despite her calling and asking them three times not to send catalogues they keep on sending them and charging for them.
