Hi ladies,

I'm 30 and require your advice with regards to my daily skincare regime. I've spent a small fortune in recent years trying various brands and haven't yet found a product that really works for me and I can't live without. I've tried (amongst others) Liz Earle, Elemis, Spiezia. Do I need to use the same brand for each product or can I mix and match? Is a toner really necessary? Do you spend more on specialised products like serum? I have combination skin and would also like recommendations for a good sun screen to use daily that won't block up my pores and give me that horrible oily, sticky residue. Thank you so much for your help!

I use mainly Alpha H, but also some other brands. I don't think you have to use all from the same range at all.

I had/have bad patches of pigmentation from sun beds & sunbathing when I was younger so have to use an SPF every day to stop them coming out and also because i use AHAs regularly.

I use alpha h protection plus SPF 50 every day October to March then when it becomes sunnier I use Ultrasun Face 30. I change to ultrasun as it's a once a day suncream rather than just a moisturiser with SPF ifyswim?

I can be prone to breakouts and have combination skin. Over the years I have tried so many brands I've lost count and I love a new potion but have pretty much settled on what I'm using.
I think finding one thing at a time is easiest so find which cleanser you like best then stick with that and then find which moisturiser etc.

Some people don't use toner and lots don't make much difference but I've found using an acid toner really helps my skin. It's trial and error I think as everyone is different :)

Oops! Wasn't meant to be so long, sorry!

Thank you so much for the info, it's so complicated these days as there is just so much to choose from. Which acid based toner do you use?

I've tried Bravura Ginseng and currently using Alpha H daily facial. I have a different Bravura one to try when I've used that.
I will probably stick with the Bravura one as they're fairly inexpensive and good, the Alpha H one (as much as I love the brand) instant better and is lots more expensive.
